Hi Members, ive embarked on this project recently and i must say it hasn’t been easy. I started with 40mm piping and a few elbows and tried some super strong high resistance glue, the pipes keep snapping at the joins. I have JOJO, Borehole and municipal. Seems like the municipal water pressure is very high and when I turn on municipal the pipes snaps. I glued the pipes and waited 3 days and then still had issues once I connected it.

The black flexible pipe seems to work better, with the blue fittings with an o ring seal. The nut is just in place to stop the pipe pulling out. Just take the sharp edges off the pipes before pushing them in using some liquid soap as well.

What class are your PVC pipes? Have never had that issue when I did my pipes & also verify that your glue hasn’t stayed too long on the shelf. Use blue type PVC pipes, minimum Class-8. For hot water ideal would be to use copper pipe and solder it together at joints or angles. Where maintenance will need to be done use union fittings. I installed my water tank in 2014, have never had issues, leaks or bursts. Ask for guidance from plumbers or reputable hardware shops in terms of the brand name of glue to use. DO NOT USE soap to slide pipes into each other, use the glue, it needs to set normally for 24-48hrs and even shorter for more expensive brands.
