Battery disconnected and won't reconnect

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Last Friday my Narada 48NPFC150 battery disconnected from the Kodak 7.2 inverter and would not reconnect. It was later found that one of the Battery fuses had failed and this was replaced together with the fuse holder and cables to the battery.Still would not connect. Under no load the battery shows 48V but as soon as the inverter is connected the battery alarm light comes on and the inverter and battery do not connect .The voltage with the inverter connected is less than 10V.Is there any place I could have the battery tested to confirm whether it is faulty and if it can be recovered /repaired.The battery BMS appears to be functioning normally.I'm in Edenvale,Gauteng

A 48V Li battery which measures 48V means the SOC is very low.  Why was fuse holder replaced?  Was it melted because an extreme current led to it, maybe of a loose connection, or was the size of the battery cables not as specified by battery manufacturer?  The floating voltage for this battery is 54V.  This battery must be charged using a 48V Li charger.  Consult with battery supplier if they can assist.

The battery BMS shows the battery at 100% charge and all indicator lights also show battery as charged.

The fuseholder  and cables were replaced because the last year there was a current surge that damaged the inverter and and burnt the fuseholder and one cable. The original installer did not replace the fuseholder and cables.Another installer said the cables were too small and replaced the cables and fuseholder as well.

Took the battery to Dartcom who tested it and found no fault and it was fully charged.Apparently a small group of partnumbers  of this model were prolematic in connecting to and remaining connected to an inverter so they were sold of at much reduced price.I'm waiting for the battery to be returned to try and get the system up and running again
