June 15, 20233 yr Hi there! I have a Kodak 7.2 KVA Invertor. I need advice on how many 550W panels I can install on it. Has 2 MPPT’s and wanted to run 2 strings. I was told the voltage will liimit my panels and can only install 8 panels max? Below feedback I was given Max mpp output is 80 A 5 x 550 w = 4400 W 4400w / 54 v = 81 A I then asked around and was told: Your inverter has 2 MPPT's (each of which can accept a maximum PV current of 18A). Based on the 50Voc of a 550W panel, you can safely have 8 of these panels on each MPPT for a total of 16 x 550W = 8,800W Not sure who is right?

You have a power limit of 4kW on the mppt, and I will suggest you dont stretch it because they can run hot. I would prefer 6 panels per mppt, but 7 is still within spec.
