July 5, 20232 yr I was set on getting myself the 8kW Sunsynk and mitigating the fan noise by implementing @BrettB's silence hack . However, on the generous advice of Steve @ PF I am now considering the Solis S6 Pro 8kW as it will handle my Canadian 550w's better, and has faster turnaround times in the case of a warranty issue. It looks like it can meet my needs regarding setup, scheduling and interaction with home automation. Does anybody have experience with these, specifically around the fan noise? I have to install it in my passage so don't want it to be humming and whining in the middle of the night.
July 5, 20232 yr The S6Pro 5kW version has passive cooling. The S6 8kW has active cooling similar to the sunsynk so it has fans too and they will also ramp up with high/continuous loads. Have not installed one yet so no idea at which levels the fans ramp up or how loud they are.

Not many suppliers/brands do that Edited July 5, 20232 yr by WannabeSolarSparky

This is what Steve said too, so if I really want the strong silent type I could go for 2x 5kW S6Pro's and it would work out to cost marginally more than an 8kW Sunsynk and be future proof.... hmmm...

September 13, 20232 yr Anyone installed this one yet? Also concerned about the fan noise levels. Did a Kodak 10KW and that one is quite loud, so looking for a more quieter inverter. On another topic, how would you guys say this inverter compares to Sunsynk?
