August 18, 20233 yr I have purchased a 12v lifepo4 battery (4 cells) and a 12v 1200w axpert typre inverter. This will be used at a holiday home to power a tv and wifi router during loadshedding. No solar panels. I would like some advice on what an appropriate bulk and float voltage should be, and also if these 2 should differ ( float being lower than bulk). Currently I am using 14.0v bulk and 13.7v float, does this sound right? I have noticed that many battery suppliers suggest a bulk and float at the same voltage? Would it be better to have both at 14.0v then?
August 18, 20233 yr For the least amount of wear on the battery, bulk should be 14.4v or less. I've found that 14.0-14.2v works well. Float should be lower at 13.5-13.6v. Have a look at this thread also.
