September 2, 20233 yr I have 3 100 amp gelbatteries coupled to a 1000 watt inverter. Also coupled to a MPPT with 2 mono 450 watt solar panels. The batteries is not even 8 month's old driving a 100 watt TV and 50 watt decoder but only lasts 1 hour at a discharge current of 6 amp on the batteries

September 3, 20233 yr Author The inverter cut them off at that voltage🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔. I have now done everything possible to check the batteries voltage 12.7 charging at 14 volt via solar MPPT and inverter. I have put them on a smart charger and it shows that the batteries are 100%........ Could it be that with the solar it overcharges???? If I run it in daytime LS then it runs up to 4 hours on solar........

When no solar because the battery is past their sell by date due to being cycled below 12V. Lead acid don't want to go below 12V before being charged. That's why one must switch off the inverter when it discharges to 12V and wait for grid to charge them up before further use. The discharge to 10V have destroyed the battery. If you do not have essentials running permanently you can switch off the inverter that can save you 1-2A 24/7 as this is about what the inverter uses to monitor the grid and to be ready to change over to battery power when grid is lost. There is no way that I know of how to recover the lost capacity. Many videos of what to do but I don't belief you can. Where are you based? PM me if you want to keep it private.
September 3, 20233 yr Sadly this is the problem with lead acid / agm / gel batteries. To get the best out of them you should not allow them to be discharged so low, and sadly people only learn this the hard way. Modern lithium batteries are far more forgiving and can be discharged practically to zero without the problems you’re experiencing . The solution is to replace with a larger bank of LA batteries, the correct cutoff voltage (see other recent threads where the chart has been posted) or switch to a lithium battery that your inverter supports

When keeping or replacing with LAcid spent about R300 on a battery monitor with audible buzzer when you reach the 12V level so that you can switch the unit off. These same applies to the 24V version of this type of inverter where you cannot adjust the cut out level. If you adhere to the 12V level lead acid can be good for 2 yrs or more. This based on my experience. I have some that are over 3yrs old and cycled every night for outside lights.
