1. https://solar-assistant.io/help/updates/terms_update_oct_2024 I understand the need to fund future development but it feels a bit bait and switchy especially for legacy customers. I'm going to have to migrate over to a HA solution eventually
2. My answer a year ago would've been Deye or Sunsynk + Solar Assistant, but with SA's recent change from one time perpetual license to monthly subscription....
3. For some arbitrary reason, our complex property insurance is limiting any "alternative energy generation system" to a maximum of 11kw storage and/or generation. No notice. Nothing. Obviously going to challenge it but if you have a system installed and you live in a complex or estate that does common insurance for the property, check they haven't stuck in this arbitrary clause.
4. Is the inverter switching over modes when the batteries hit 100% SOC?
5. Get this chat got bot out of here
6. Are you inadvertently exporting back to grid? That will trigger most prepaid meters to bill you as consumption
7. Have you read this thread?
8. Ideally you need identical inverters, and all the inverters need to have the same firmware version.
9. Probably best to ask Microcare for their recommendation
10. No, You need a battery that can support the max discharge of your inverter. You currently have 2 Hubble AM2 Batteries, each rated at 1C, so if you just upgraded your inverter, you should be fine. If your batteries were only rated at 0.5C, as an example, your max discharge would be limited to 5KW even if you have an 8kw Inverter
11. Domain registered in 2019 via GoDaddy, Site hosted on AWS. Ts&Cs reference South African things like the CPA, but the lack of actual street address and landline contact details makes me very wary As always, if you can't visit them physically and collect, I would stay away
12. The goodies arrived!
13. If the only inconvenience is to your eyeballs, I suggest you don't look.
14. Do you have the battery BMs connected or are you using voltage /user mode?
15. Well if you want to sell yours I’m keen. Where are you based?
16. Too many red flags Physical location is a Sasol AI generated images of their store Facebook profile but no website
17. Plenty stock, great price, reputable brand and supplier https://www.inverter-warehouse.co.za/collections/jinko-solar/products/jinko-solar-panel-tiger-560w-mono-facial
18. On first setup of my SA, it created a WiFi hotspot automatically. I used an android phone to connect to it and perform the initial setup so that the pi could connect to my home WiFi network. After that it was available on my local network and I logged in and completed the setup I did this twice btw, one SA setup on my home network with UniFi Prosumer gear and on my parents default telkom router
19. You can literally zip tie the fans together and lay them directly on the heatsink on top to pull the hot air up.
20. Clearly you haven't dealt with Sunsynk...
