My CCTV cameras are flickering and going black when the power is on but once it goes off and the system swith over the cameras works perfectly, as soon as power is restored I struggle again. I disconnect the inverter and all is normal. Any suggestions?

Had a very similar issue way back when using analog cameras. Came down to an earthing issue on my side. Maybe an avenue worth exploring?

What inverter? Pure sine wave or modified sine wave?

I have a similar issue. When the inverter is working two of my cameras go on and off and I get flickering on the picture.

I have tried a number of things including ensuring the array and all metalwork are earthed to a ground rod. The problem gets worse when the system is producing a lot of power and then when the pv is off the cameras work fine. 

I am in the process of using network cable that is shielded overall with shielded twin pairs and making a power pair and a video pair that are on opposite sides of the cable. I had to do this for my phone line too as it picked up a hum when the pv was working. It worked for the phone so there is hope. I have added balluns to a lot of the cabling from the inverter and into the consumer unit but they did not do much.

I will try to report back when I have tried the network cable option and see if this resolved things, in the mean time if you find a solution please do post it here so that we can see what was done. It may be that I need to get rid of the old system and replace it with something more modern but until I know if this will be effected I am not going to spend the money.

Hi there, since I have installed my cctv system I am at wit ends with it. I have exactly the same issues. Lines on the cameras, ghosting, the picture is not clear and crisp. 
 

i changed the cameras, cables, dvr, added another power supply, not no avail. 
 

im at a stage of just rewiring again, however I have put so much of money into the system. 
 

My installer tried so many things, nothing seems to work. I even tested the earth king issues and put ground loop isolators, still noting. 
 

any advise or solutions to try will be appreciated

I have recently changed my inverter from an Axpert MKS4 to a Conversol V7 (axpert King 2) I think, and as soon as I installed it and got it working all of the interference went away. Now as I changed it because there was an F12 mppt fault, it may be one conclusion that the fault on the inverter was the cause of the interference as since the new one has been running all of my cctv system functions perfectly. Perhaps get someone to take a look at your inverter to see if it is caused by an issue with it rather than something that is caused by its normal running or the installation.

To say I was surprised is an understatement but I certainly am.
