Axpert inverter display stopped working during thunderstorm

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My axpert inverter display packed up during a thunderstorm. Luckily, the inverter is still working. Has anybody had a similar experience and managed to get their display working again?

I was reading related posts on this forum, and it seems that there are SM fuses on axpert inverters as shown in the image below, so I decided to open the inverter and have a look. I couldn’t find any fuses, but I did find that the black connector to the display showed  burn marks and was no longer connected and slightly distorted as if it had been subject to stress. I plugged it back in and was very very surprised that the display was working again after powering up. This is a very unlikely story, however I have no way I of explaining how only a connector seemed to have blown off, yet the electronics were saved Wtf. Anyway I have now installed arrestors on the ac in to the inverter as well as out, something I was intending to get around to…… you know how it goes.

Very happy and impressed with how tough this inverter seems to be

Did you mean the display? The fuses mentioned are in the removable display.
