October 20, 20232 yr Hi all, I can't seem to find a definitive answer on what the correct voltage settings are for a BSL 7kwh battery paired with a sunsynk 8kw inverter. I don't have a generator installed and have 10 505w Longi Solar panels. My voltages are set as follows: Float 55.2V Absorption 57.6V Equalisation 57.6V Gen signal and signal island mode are ticked. Is this right - I also had strange behaviour where from 20% SoC the battery would just drop to 0%. My installer just said that it's normal drift, which is why i started researching battery voltages
October 20, 20232 yr Ideally you should use Li battery with the BSL & Sunsynk with a CANbus connection, the voltages would then be specified by the BMS to the inverter. Float at 55.2V / 16 cells is 3.45V per cell, which is probably ok. Absorption and Equalisation at 57.6V / 16 cells is 3.6V per cell and maybe a tad high. but either way, if you use Lithium with CANbus comms, the all this is ignorable, since, between the BMS and the inverter, they'll choose the right voltages and then the inverter should also get more accurate SOC data from the BMS.
October 20, 20232 yr Author Thanks for clarifying - also what about the Gen Signal and Signal Island mode. Should that be enabled?
