April 1, 20242 yr Conderenergy 6.5kw inverter trips on 1.1kw borehole pump startup. I have 6 x 450 watt mono panels connected in series, off grid system. If I change the inverter load properties from SBU to USB will it be possible to use the generator for the strartup rush of about 21amp and then switch the gennerator of for solar to take over the load or will the transfer lapse be to long. Inverter specs say UPS lapse 10m/s Appliances lapse 20m/s . Thank you

This is always not a great application of PV. There is always the cloud problem and then the PV might drop below the 1.1kW needed for the pump. This is where a battery of high enough current will assist in starting as the panels on their own could never work. You don't mention what battery you have connected? The 10/20 msec you mention is just the transfer from grid to battery power.

This to ensure battery is recharged after the night before. Also keep it on SBU. Then if the inverter trips try it with the generator running under USB as you suggested. Have you tested that the generator is actually used as grid on the inverter? If not try it with a light load like fridges to see that it works. These inverters can be fussy about the quality if supply.
April 1, 20242 yr Author Ok will try when we have blue sky again. Have not connected the genny to the inverter to test , but will give it a try. Thank you for your advice.
