May 31, 20242 yr Hello everyone, Unsure if this is the right section to post in but after some much needed help and advise. I have solar and wind power running through a hybrid inverter which is all running very well. Although recently our toilet macerator seems to have developed what seems like an intermittent fault in that it doesn't always kick in straight away... Almost like it's stalling before it decides to work. The second we switch over to the mains it works fine, which leads me to believe that the problem is not the macerator its self but an issue working whilst using PV and battery power. Any feedback greatly appreciated and hope above makes sense. Thanks for looking

That sounds to me that the inverter is not able to cope with the surge current of the macerator's motor coming on under load. At a wild guess, it might need 3-4 kW to start up, for a fraction of a second. Very small inverters may not be able to provide this, or the voltage might sag badly when they get this surge load. What is the power rating of your inverter? What is the condition of the battery?
June 5, 20242 yr Just my thought . On my CCTV when inverter is running on solar battery mode the TV or even monitor would flicker on off a black screen or stay for long periods on black screen even my open view decoder on hdmi cable would do the same and had to use RCA cable to fix the problem on the decoder this was with 2 different inverter an 3 kw and 5.5kw inverter I install one of these red surge protector wall socket plugs by chances as I had one and gone was the problem . Won't hurt to install one of these plugs as they are cheap and see what happens . Edited June 5, 20242 yr by GMAC
