July 27, 20242 yr I have a grid tied setup with PV and batteries. In case of grid failure, the PV & Batteries supply a dedicated circuit with essentials. I have temporarily disconnected my batteries due to an upgrade. Since this, my inverter shuts down at night when there is no PV generated power, even though the grid is still on. Should the inverter not stay up when there is power supplied via the grid?
July 27, 20242 yr Hi Carsten, this is normal. The Grid tie system will switch off when there is no PV. Some inverters have a setting that can change this. For your system to revert to hybrid mode it needs the battery in place otherwise let's face it the system is just wasting energy by being on doing nothing...
August 9, 20242 yr I think this is in the new goodwe models. In previous versions, the hybrid inverter line still operates at night. I think that's a waste of energy
