Eskom grid voltage

Recommended Posts

For the last few days I have been getting "Disconnected from grid" errors.

I see teh grid voltage has been hovering 250V and sometimes going above. ANyone else seeing this ?

Benoni area. I have checked voltages manually and inverter is correct.

Sent it to our councillor so will se what she says

I’m in the West Rand, grid voltage and frequency are constantly erratic. I get the disconnect notifications every so often…but grid hasn’t disconnected, its just dropped below the parameters set on the inverter.

Voltage could be from the munic side and not Eskom.

Frequency between 49.9 and 50.2Hz is within normal parameters. If you get notification at this level perhaps make the range a bit wider.

Was this graph for today?

Most inverters, even the good old fashioned trolley variety, will disconnect from the grid if voltage or frequency go outside a set of parameters. Doesn't mean the grid isn't up, just means the inverter doesn't want to deal with it.

Speak to your provider about this. Probably they can adjust it at the sub station.

Just to give you an idea of the voltage in our area. Very steady over the time frame of 07h to 15h. 225 to 232V.
