Axpert King rack 48v 5kw error code 90

Hello, 

So I have a axpert king rack 48v 5kw that keeps throwing out error code 90, 

Back story I bought 2 new DC solar lithium batteries. My inverter was the first gen so it wasn’t made to be able to communicate with this type of lithium. So the shop I bought everything from installed a new communication card and then everything worked for a time. I’ve had the same error code happen 4x. They gave me the program to go into the inverter and change the numbers on the card to “reset” it so it functions. However the tech has informed me my inverter is a POS the card is a POS. 
 

I had to bring it back to the shop again today and they tried to reset the card but it didn’t work. So it has to have a new communication card installed pretty much every time it sends out error code 90 it needs a new card. I have been informed from this forum (thanks again) that error code 90 is it saying the card or the inverter I can’t remember atm is a clone. Neither is I bought them both from the official shop. 
 

I asked if I switched to different batteries would it work with them. The problems started once I bought the new lithiums. The tech said no that the inverter is a POS and it does something that fry’s the card. And that next time it happens I can’t bring it back for repairs. 
 

I asked if there was a better quality communication card the answer was no. 
 

does anyone know of  a work around ? The batteries are new and appear to be functioning perfectly. The inverter when it works, functions perfectly. Can I buy a bunch of the communication cards cheap from China and replace them every 4-6 months? That’s about how often the code appears. 
 

or do I just have to save up and hope I get enough before it craps out again ? 
 

like I say once they change the card it works fine for a time.

That doesn't sound right to me. Fault code 90 is all about the contents of the EPROM, which is on the control board, not any comms board. I can't see how it's possible to fry the comms board with that fault code.

Is it possible that the tech is replacing the control board? I don't know what the insides of a Rack Mounted King look like.  But replacing the control board also replaces the EEPROM chip, unless the Rack  Mounted kings are vastly different.

If he's replacing the control boards with clone control boards, then you will get another 60 days (around 2 months, not 4-6) from each control board, if running 24/7. If you are only running them 33-50% of each day on average, then that would give you the 4-6 months.

What is your main (U1) firmware version? I may have it here,  or one close to the same version, so I could PM you a patched version that prevents fault code 90 from ever coming up. Alas, rack mounted firmwares don't come up very often, so I may not be able to help.

Thank you for the reply, apologies for my late response. Spanish is not my first language so it is possible I misunderstood the tech. They are the largest solar providers in Spain and sell the inverter still. So it is supposed to be all official hardware. However I am not very knowledgeable about the programming chip set ect. I belive the firmware is U1 75 06. I turn the inverter off at night to try to extend its life. If there is a way to patch this so it doesn’t happen again I would be very appreciative 🙏🙏👊👊

That's fortunate; I have 75.07 and 75.08.

Can you first try factory firmware version 75.08? There is a small chance that it will fix the problem.

You can use the QBOOT command to see if it is fixed, or whether fault code 90 will come up again eventually. Use Voltronics' communications tool, available from the first few lines of this post:
