bore hole pump replaced after stolen with smaller pump

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, I need help. about a year ago they stole my bore hole pump so i replaced it but the one they stole was a 1.1kw and the one i replaced it with is a 0.75kw pump with that smart control boxes. with the previous pump it could pump my 5000ltr jojo full in about two hours that was about 10 meters in up and about 120meter from the bore hole, without tripping or anything. Now i have moved the jojo about 20meters closer and its now about 3 meters up, but it pumps half an hour and then it trips on dry run every time then i have to wait a few hours to restart the pump. the depth of the pump is the same nothing changed there. could you please assist. i am thinking of replacing the pump again to a 1.1kw to see.

The way I understand it, they stole the "pump". Which means the complete unit. (1.1kw motor + pump)

He then replaced it with a smaller unit (0.75kw motor + pump)

Anybody lifting the "pump", remove the motor and chuck the pump and pipe back in the hole, must be nuts. 🥲
