I personally don't like it when a manufacturer, supplier or distributor comes onto these forums and post to tell us how great they or their product is and how much they care (biggest lie ever). If they post something like the above then they must be willing to respond to questions being asked on the specific post. They treat it as their own personal advertising board without taking the responsibility. I believe if they post here then the admins of these forums must enforce responsibility rules and remove their "advertisement" posts if they don't respond.
I am in the process of upgrading my system to a bigger inverter and battery and I am in the research phase. I remember how Sunsynk ( @Keith Gough @David Drake ) treated their customers and that will affect my decision. I am watching the other guys as well.
I see some activity from Solis on the forums lately so why haven't you responded on this post yet, @Solis Inverters SA ?

He good news is @TaliaB has been discharge and he is busy recharging hopefully to 100% SOC on a family farm.
His oxygen levels still need to recover and could take a while.

Isolate all PV from your system and disconnect each panel for testing early morning before voltages of panels rise.
Just remember, this tester is for testing ONE panel at a time.

What type of lights? Halogen or Led?
Voltages between Life & Neutral.
Then mainly, voltage between Neutral and Earth at that stage.
If proper Neutral_Earth bond when in Island mode, there should be no voltage between N&E.

The thing I have with unknown suppliers is looking at their websites.
Some links on their website are incorrect, or show irrelevant information.

@TaliaB improved to be moved to a general ward. He might be discharged today depending on further improvement.

Just an update just received. He has recovered in such a way that he is out of ICU and in the high care ward. He looks better and can eat without help. Still awaiting results of the latest blood tests. Great to see he is on the recovery path. 🙏

Sad news that @TaliaB has been admitted to the Christian Barnard Netcare with Pulmonary Embolism. He was fine earlier in the day. He has been put on Echmo.

Just keep in mind that with a disconnector on each battery, it makes it so much easier to isolate 1 of the batteries quickly for whatever reason, without having to disconnect its wires. 

Solar Assistant has it's place, but detail multi battery analysis is not one of them. They can give you individual battery SOC's, temps, volts etc, but struggles to give detail. One of the most important metric's is the individual cell voltages, as well as the delta cell voltage per battery.
I, like @-cK- , use the Home Assistant method, so I can observe my batteries.

This way, you can actually "see" when a cell sag's/lag's during a charge/discharge cycle.

Because this graph tells me when the max. was achieved, I can at least attempt to retrace to see if anything extra ordinary has triggered such an occurrence.

But in all honesty, this installer doesn't seem to care about right, wrong or OEM specifications. Tell him to replace or get reported.

A simular "short" rail I came across when a friend was complaining about a knocking sound from his roof in stronger winds. And a CoC was issued like this. What was even worse is the roof attachment method.
Needless to say, that register electrician won't be used again.

Hi, I think it might just be easier to make the new rails higher on one side than lift the IBR roof as a whole.

So I finally get to test my minimalist theory in real life.
Because of costs at the time I had decided to install just a 5kW inverter with 2.75kW of panels and 5kWh of battery power, basically sized to carry me through daily load-shedding stints, while remaining grid-tied and rather just trading power with the grid with time-of-use. The goal was to have something more financially justifiable than going off-grid. I reckoned that if a large-scale blackout would come, I'd be able to survive with my household in limp mode - nearly normal - while it gets re-started, and still be better off than most folks. And if Eskom well-and-truly dies, then being off-grid on my own island while the country collapses is a wishful fantasy.
Well that day has now come. You may have caught the news of Nelson Mandela Bay's outage due to a pylon that collapsed from vandalism and poor maintenance. While some parts of the city have got power restored rotationally, I'm in one of the areas that will NOT have any power until infrastructure is re-built. Current promises say there's a 14-day restoration plan, but we'll see. At the same time water supply is affected. My small rainwater tank is sized to carry just around a week's water supply and/or be a diversion tank for the pool. Water gets pumped normally for toilet flushing only, but if the municipal supply goes out I can sanitize and divert water to the rest of the house to cover short periods. Not great pressure on a 0.375kW pump, but better than nothing.
So far so good. As long as there is enough sun, I can cover my baseload through the night, and run all other major loads by day. Food is not likely to spoil in the freezer. Hot water is supplied by thermal solar (flat plate) with an insulating blanket on the tank. A gas cooker & braai skillet are available, but I didn't trust gas availability in a crisis, and so a simple electric two-plate stove and slow-cooker are additional backups. The pool may have to suffer. But as long as the sun shines by day and some rain falls at night, I think we'll be okay.

Heater blankets for geysers may be efficient if you have one that's mounted on an outside wall. I am not convinced it makes much of a difference inside the roof .
Pipe insulation on the other hand will make a bigger difference as the pipes themselves will heat up quicker whilst eliminating radiative losses to the surrounding cooler air.

I don't think that timers save you money, but you can control when it heats so mine only heats when the sun comes up so probably costs the same but my solar is heating most of it. Is this the type of "lagging" you guys are using on your pipes?
