  • Tell-tale guys, you can't contact anyone at the site.

  • They only accept EFT Payments

  • Very Low pricing

  • Can install anywhere in South Africa

Searching for inverters and panels is so difficult due the abundance of fake websites and them appearing near the top of the Google listings...

Stick to well known reputable companies!

The following website: solarstrength.store is a Scam if you google Solar Strength it has 40 reviews now it looks like it was actually a legit website however solarstrength.store is not it was registered 4 October 2025 and they are definitely scammers.

They list various payments methods but only accept EFT, They list the Johannesburg address that is on google also for the company that was legit but nothing there, the Cape Town address doesn't exist at all and its the same one the scammers used above.

Please be careful dealing with this company you will lose all your money.

Sadly a Sinogy victim here.

Reporting is very hard on google where they are active. On facebook at least people indicate Sinogy is a scam but on google they seemed ok, same as instagram. Am not on facebook, only checked after the guy went silent. However guys, please file a police case each time otherwise the guy keeps getting on. I see some comments on this forum that Sinogy installed for them but I suspect those guys are accomplices. They have also suddenly started selling EV chargers, same page and all.

Stick with reputable known good suppliers.
https://powerforum-store.co.za
https://www.diygeek.co.za My 2x Narada batteries and and 1st growatt spf5000es and Sunsynk 5k inverter came from DIYGEEK running more than 5 years now with zero issues
https://segensolar.co.za Need an installer account to buy, some bargains but mostly a bit pricey
https://www.solarwaysuppliers.co.za I buy my panels and mounting systems from them, best prices online open to public
https://acdc.co.za Expensive, but can go there in emergency if desperate for something.

https://www.liteglo.co.za Electrical supplies online - nationwide delivery quick and their prices are really good, they based in JHB and I am in Cpt often get supplies from them cheaper than suppliers in cape town even after adding their courier fees.

Hahaha, easier said than done sometimes. That month, not one of my regulars had stock of that model. I was even phoning around the area and there was no eta for stock.

Hi Paul

The person behind this is Bradley Mbifi, various of these scam sites are linked to him, and cases have been opened. I would recommend you do this as well.

Thank you Kevin

I do have an open case. The guys are struggling to track him down, which I suppose is based on the MO. I am extremely patient however, that same investment that was lost was prepared over a long period of time. I do not know what the final outcome is going to be for the investigation but, the projects must go on!

All the info I have regarding Bradley at the moment is that he is a Zambian staying in South Africa and running all these. We provided SAPS with 7 numbers he has or had but they can't seem to do anything with it.

This guy is legit and is an installer as well:

Yes, the numbers are on rotation. The moment authority starts calling, number is changed. If it is just a victim, you get blocked.

The pages are not hosted in SA, and oak even has cloudfare protection. I see he has moved hosting from Singapore to Indonesia at the moment.

The company is registered with two Chinese directors, but these directors also show up in same company in Nigeria running the same scheme. If you trace the opened cases in that region, they are looking for these non existent directors.

Its just a matter of time ...

Don't forget Infinity Group Companies in KZN

They have scammed numerous people

I had their website taken down and opened a case with the National Consumer Commission

The NCC found that the registered address of the company is false. There is a building at this address, but they have never occupied it. The building owner said that people had been coming to the address for 3 years looking for them

The CEO's name is Christopher Gold

Infinity is down again. At least we were busy earlier this week with ISPA, and they advised Afrihost took it down for the second time now. It seems to be an endless battle with these scammers as they just come out of new holes every week again.

I am having a hassle with Livestainable

Ordered a set of cables and a 3-pole battery disconnect switch and fuses

The website image showed a APTSA switch and said "fuses"

It took 7 days for half the order to be delivered with a different brand of switch. The carton was damaged, had been repaired with brown adhesive tape and a short piece on top. One good shake and a small box fell out

There was only one fuse

An email to Livestainable asked for a picture, but didn't specify what of. I sent a picture of box with a label "3 fuses" and the inside showing one

The next email from Livestainable said I was confused and only 2 fuses are supplied and said this was mentioned on the website. Well, it is not

Still waiting for the set of cables. I told L to stop procrastinating and send the goods ordered, or a complaint will be lodged with the National Consumer Commission

Personally, I've not been able to figure out why they sell 3 x disconnect switches for batteries.

If someone has, I would also like to know why.

A 3rd fuse would only be handy one day when a fuse fails! (hope not)

There are 4 batteries

1 and 2 connect to disconnect switch A

3 and 4 connect to disconnect switch B

Negative connects to disconnect switch C

The output of A and B are bridged

Ah, In that case make sure Fuse C = Fuse A + Fuse B.

I just think best practice is to have each battery on it's own 2pole disconnect (so both + & -), and a master disconnect for all 4 at once. Just makes servicing a particular battery very easy without having to disrupt home supply.
