  1. If you have gas stove, the gas toasters work really well. Unfortunately, I am between houses, so mine is in storage and I can't take a photo.
  2. Ja, I thought that too and have it set on 9600 at the moment. I think my next move is to get hold of a RS232 (RJ11) to USB cable and try that. This has been quite a learning curve for me, and I thank everyone who responded
  3. I can change the baud rate and have tried all through 4800 - 115000. Not sure about the other settings. Must are now telling me that I can't communicate with the battery via RS485, that this is for paralleling only, I must use RS232 which is a RJ11 plug
  4. Thanks, I seem to have the same problem. Installed the CH340 driver, but still not getting any info. Must Batteries say that PBMSTools is the correct software, but I am inclined to not believe much that they say. They have given me so much conflicting info that I have pretty much given up on them. I will carry on reading this thread and playing and will hopefully hit on the solution one of these fine days.
  5. Thanks for that. I bought that R38 two wire one and tried it out yesterday. Still no joy, but I think the problem is drivers, which I have now downloaded from the site you pointed me to. I will try later today
  6. Thanks, that's the way I saw it too. Just not sure if one can trust the Chinese interpretation. Worth a try, and hope it won't bugger anything up if they are wrong.
  7. Let's try again. Edited the original
  8. Sorry, my attachment popped up in the middle of the text. Don't know how to move it
  9. Hi, I have a Must LP18-48100 battery (51.2V, 100Ah). Unfortunately I can't connect this to the comms port on my cheapy Axpert, so want to read the BMS info on my laptop using PBMSTools. I am not getting much help from Must re the pin configurations and was hoping someone here could help. I have an old LAN cable which I intend to chop off one of the RJ45 plugs and connect the required leads to a USB adapter. I have attached a picture of my adapter as well as the info I got from Must. Appreciate the feedback. RS485 Pin Outs.docx
  10. Thanks Coulomb, your input is greatly appreciated. I'm not going to stress about it for now, the battery is coping with the loads through the night and getting close to full charge if the sun shines the next day. Once I get the RS485 to USB link working, I hope to read the BMS directly on my tablet then I can see exactly what is going on.
  11. Hi Coulomb, thanks for the speedy reply. I might have been a bit vague. My inverter is an Axpert, don't think it is a clone, although branded Mecer. It is about 5 or 6 years old. How would I determine whether the processor is 8 bit or otherwise? The battery is a Must, recently bought. I have no comms between battery and inverter, quite honestly, because I don't know how to connect to the funny USB port on the inverter. I did manage to connect the inverter to MultiSIBcontrol, via my tablet, but this just confused me more, in that the battery displayed 2 out of 6 lit LEDs but the program said it was at 86% SOC. I'm guessing this is the Axpert tendency of confusing Volts and SOC, which has been spoken about a lot on this forum. I am in the process of sorting out a RS485 to USB cable/converter so that I can read the battery info directly from my tablet using PBMSTools, if I can get it to work.
  12. I have been running the above 3Kva inverter for some time now and has worked fine for my needs. I was offgrid for about 4 or 5 years, then ongrid for a couple and now recently back offgrid. I recently upgraded to a MUST LP18-48100 battery and now seem to be suffering from the premature float bug. My software version is 02.51 (U1) and 02.10 (U2). Is there by any chance of a patched software version that I can install to overcome this problem? Thanks in advance, Peter
  13. Wouldn't a manual changeover switch do this? I'm sure mine was wired that if I changed over to utility, power went straight to the DB bypassing the inverter completely. I might be wrong though.
  14. Hi Alf, no not yet, but on hold at the moment. I am in the process of moving (reluctantly) and I might have to temporarily stay in a caravan for the next few months and might need it for a while. Sorry about that. I'll make a note and PM you if things change
  15. Hi Andrew, not yet. I downloaded PBMS Tools as per @zsde recommendations, but have not sourced a RS485 to USB adapter yet. They are available, it seems, but the postage is more than double the cost of the product, so on hold till I can make a plan. I assume you have the same battery?

  19. @zsde, thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. I will look up PBMS Tools. The battery came with a cable marked Inverter on one side and battery on the other. I think they are RJ45 plugs. I'm assuming (maybe incorrectly) that I can get an adapter from RJ45 to USB for my laptop. My inverter only has one port, which looks like a printer socket, I believe it is USB, but I have never managed to communicate with it. @Scorp and @TaliaB, you are correct, I could have explained better, just didn't think it was necessary, apologies.
  20. Hi thanks for the response, but not what I asked. I guess I should have said Axpert 3Kva Plus version, it is definitely a 48V inverter and has been performing without a glitch for about 5 years on my old 2nd hand golf cart batteries. Recently had an 8 day power outage, so bit the bullet and bought lithium. It has been performing well on this battery for a month now, I just want to read the BMS info. Thanks.
  21. I recently bought a Must 51.2V 100Ah battery (LP18-4100). It doesn't have an LCD screen, only 6 LEDs showing the SOC and my Axpert 3Kva doesn't have ports to connect to. The battery came with a cable that fits into RS485 and 232 ports on the battery. I have a spare windows tablet that I would like to use to see the battery data, but this only has USB ports. I assume one can get a RS485 to USB adapter, but I suppose I would need some type of software too. Anyone got a solution for me, I am rather dof about these things. Thanks
