November 19, 20241 yr Hi I had a growatt 5000es inverter installed on 4 x 450w panels yesterday. I am trying to get the setup done as I am running with \out a battery. I have power coming in from the panels but nothing to my circuits. The datalogger also does not want to connect to my laptop or my phone shine app.
November 19, 20241 yr what is the VCC of those panels? Do they provide enough for the start up voltage of the Inverter? i.e. 150Vdc + or - 10Vdc Program Setting 01 should be SOL (solar only) If those conditions are met then you should have AC power for as long as your load doesn't exceed the available power.

Hi Sorry for the delay in response. Thanks for the info. When checking I was getting just under the 150v needed from the 4 panels I have. I went yesterday to buy 2 more panels and having them fitted today.

I tried it once when I had to make changes to my battery wiring. Although the panels were supplying enough to maintain the inverters and the load, when I cut the batteries out the inverters immediately shut down.

Hi Thanks, yes getting ahead of myself but just not in a position to get the batteries at the moment. These seems to be lot of data on youtube saying it should work. I just wanted to try keep the power on to run my laptops and a fridge maybe. I still have my original 12v setup so I will just keep that running in the meanwhile as well.

That was just for test for a short while. I don't feel comfortable doing it as any reduction in solar energy when a load is applied can lead to a shutdown and I am not convinced that such occurrences would be good for the hardware in the long run

I am actually running my laptop at the moment. I agree there is an issue when going bigger but just does not seem right as the inverter is quite big with 2600w panels and should be able to handle the loads. My normal set up is a 12v 2000w pure sine wave inverter but with 280ah lithium cells and 1300w panels and I can basically run a washing machine and my fridges all at the same time
