Overload bypass Alpert / mecer 5kva

Featured Replies

Hi all

isit bad for my 5kva 5000 watt to be going over it’s limit. Ie ive enables the overload bypass. With winter and having to use oil heaters etc I’m pushing over 5000 in the evenings... obviously should eskom start their load shedding escapade again I would switch these heaters off.

just not sure if it’s safe to leave the inverter beeping whilst in overload bypass mode ?

thanks

If its beeping, there will probably be an error code. Check the middle two digits of the LC Display. It will likely be important; I would not ignore it.

Edit: a 5 kVA model (there are several) typically has a 40 amp bypass capability. I believe it would not be beeping because the bypass apparent power exceeds 5 kVA.
