Hi everybody, 

I have a system which is about three months old, 2x Kodak king UPS inverters, with PV and a 20kWh Pylontech battery back up. System was working fine until friday past. Customers eskom has been down since Thursday,  now the system keeps giving hassles. The master inverter shows battery full, whilst the slave keeps giving a battery low error. What must I look for regarding faults, batteries are all still balanced and fully operational,  but system literally keeps switching its self on and off. Would an ICC(inverter control center) sort this issue, or is that, as far as I understand,  simply for online monitoring?

That sounds like early firmware. Consider updating to factory firmware version 71.86 and especially display/MCS/BMS firmware 02.00. The early firmwares didn't handle slaves properly.

It's a real shame that Voltronic don't fess up about the problems with early BMS direct connect firmware, and make the later firmware more available. I know they don't want to make life easier for the clone makers, but they seem to find a way to copy it regardless, and meanwhile customers and clients of customers meanwhile are suffering problems.

where does one obtain this firm ware?

Yes. But since you likely need to update the MCU/BMS/display firmware as well as the main firmware, you should use the Windows PC instructions, not the direct-from-the-flash-drive method. Instructions are inside the zip files; the user manuals have few details. You'll need a USB to RS-232 adapter.

Hi Coulomb,  You've been a great help. Final question, besides the two files I downloaded, do I need any other software on my computer to do firmware upgrade?

No, the required reflash tools, all the DLLs they need, and even some basic instructions are included in the zip files. You do need a Windows operating system, and a USB to serial adapter.
