But I want the software yesterday!

I'm new here, having found this forum while chasing software for a Giant inverter, which is also Voltronics Axpert rebranded. We aren't new to renewable energy, having started over 10 years ago with a wind generator, and then solar panels on an off-grid system.

The new inverter has been running for a couple of weeks, and the java based software supplied requires an energy expensive computer. The Linux version of the software is inoperative, so on the lookout for some code to use to interrogate the inverter about its performance, I found this place. I was too late to be a beta tester for the RPi software. If the current attempt to use J van der Vyver's Ruby code gets stuck, I may be back begging for the RPi code!

What size is your inverter ? Can you give more info on the inverter. Are you running one or two ?

Axpert MKS 2K-24

Just running one - we use off-grid to run our lights and low voltage computers, and the amateur radio gear. Until the end of December we will be getting a generous feed in tariff for our on-grid pv generation, and next year we will trying to make the best use of the daytime generation from the on-grid stuff.
