Replacing Monbat batteries with a Pylontech Lithium Ion 3.5kW US3000 Battery

Featured Replies

I have an Axpert (Mercer) 5Kva/4Kwh  hybrid inverter and am in the process of replacing  my 4 Monbat batteries with a Pylontech Lithium Ion 3.5kW US3000 Battery. My question is can this be done, has anyone on this forum done this before and is there a manual or instruction on how to go about replacing the batteries with respect to settings/process etc.

The Axpert clones does work well with Pylontech batteries. Just search this forum for "Axpert US3000" and you will find many.

Just not for the 5Kva you will need atleast 2x US3000.

Thanks Louis, can I not incrementally add more Pylontech batteries? Unfortunately finances does not allow me to purchase more at this stage. I will just ensure that the pool pump, geyser, kettle etc. are not used when Eskom power is off.

You can, but the battery's warranty will not be valid on using one (you can only draw 27A if I remember correctly). You will need to limit the current that the inverter will draw.

37A is the recommended max daw. 74 being the max. Though it will do 100a for like 15 seconds and that will probably void the warranty. I don't think going over 37a for a short period will cause warranty to be void.
