November 22, 20205 yr I looking for a 100 A DC current sensor - so I can monitor the current balnce between two battery banks on a common busbar. It must not break into existing wiring - so a Hall effect clamp than can be permanently fitted . Cannot find anything?
November 22, 20205 yr I've only come across Hall effect current measurement in expensive dc ammeters. Is there any reason why you can't use a 100A 75mV shunt?
November 22, 20205 yr Author I find it bizzaire that is required , you can get decent clamp DC mutimeters for under R1000 which measure 600A with good precision. The sensor itself cannot be more than R150 itself .
November 23, 20205 yr LEM makes a very large range of hall-effect sensors with different measuring ranges and supply voltages etc. https://www.lem.com/en R.S Components does stock quite a few of their products (for some reason they put them in the same category as the current transformers). Here is a link to one of them as an example: https://za.rs-online.com/web/p/current-transformers/0497182/
