Are there any newer firmware or patched firmware available for these inverters. Got one in at a customer and the thing also goes into premature float, does not charge the batteries fully.

Yes, there is fully patched firmware version 74.40e. 

I've not seen any more recent firmware for this model, and in any case if there was, it's pretty much guaranteed that it won't have the premature float bug fixed.

Factory firmware version 74.50 is the latest that I'm aware of for the Axpert MKS 5K-58 PF1 58.4 V models.
