Help i have 400AH of battery power on RCT axpert 5K inverter ( 145 Volt max ) version

should change my setup of panels to get more amps in Limpopo .

we use 300W in evening and sometimes we run out early morning

- I am thing panels are not Charing battery to full thus it shows full  50.4V

- should get firmware upgrade

That doesn't sound good for your battery.

[ Edit: What I meant to say was, with such a light load and the battery not lasting till morning, it's either not charging fully, or has low capacity. ]

It that's after the battery has finished charging, that's OK, depending on loads and many other factors. If it's the highest voltage the battery gets to while charging, that's way too low.

What main firmware (U1 data page) are you on now?

I assume you mean 3S4P: three panels in series per string, and four such strings in parallel.

I assume they're lead acid. Sealed?

This is very low. Usually, you can charge lead acid to 0.15C; AGM to 0.2C. 0.15C for you would be 0.15 x 400 = 60 A.

12 44V

This is way too low. I would use 48V. Yes, it's less runtime, but if you have enough battery (and you did), it's best to run them down to only about 50% depth of discharge. 44 V is nearly dead flat.

That's an unusual figure, 14.45 V per 12 V module. Is that what is recommended by the battery manufacturer? Usually, you charge flooded lead acid to 14.6 V per module, and sealed lead acid to something like 14.1 V per module.

You should try to fix that so that it selected as SnG (single). Strange things happen. See FAQ #3.

29 43v

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that setting has likely killed your battery. It happens so often, sadly. A setting as low as that is meant for occasional (perhaps once a year) emergencies. But in South Africa with its frequent extended load shedding, it happens way too often. After a handful of deep discharges like that, lead acid is ruined. Sometimes they can be revived a little, usually it's not worth the effort.

For regular load shedding, this figure should be up around 48 V (12.0 V per 12 V module). That's hopefully close to 50% state of charge under load. The inverter probably can't set the voltage any higher than that anyway.

The other thing that hasn't helped your battery's life is the premature float bug in every Axpert factory firmware. There is patched firmware for most 145 V max models; see Can I update my firmware, and if so to what?

good day got modified firmware . 74.40e .

now when all of panels are in the sun it shows on the screen 2 panels . will me changing the layout of the panels allow more solar power to come in .  I have gel battery sealed . oliter 200AH .

will see tonight if battery charged up better .

Ok, that will eliminate the premature float bug.

If you mean the patched firmware is now showing 2 rows of "cells" in the solar panel icon, that just means you're charging from solar at 2000 W ± 500 W. Just a quick visual indication of gross PV charging power.

It depends on what you have now. Your first post said "Setup 3 P X 4 series panels 270w 30V 8.68Amp "; if this is not a typo, it means you have 4 x 30 V = 120 V for the Vmp at 25°C. Open circuit, they will be at least 20% more, or at least 144 V, which is way too close to the absolute never-exceed limit of 145 V. In Winter, they would increase Voc by another 7% or so, which would be at least 154 V, which is likely to cause  damage.

These are presumably 60-cell panels. 3S4P (4 strings of 3 panels in series) would work much better (and safer). You can expect under very good conditions perhaps about 80% of nominal panel power, which is 2592 W, which would just squeak it into the 3 rows of cells (solar panel icon full).

 1.17KW from 12 the afternoon , max

after update it cuts off and uses the battery on full sun as today

we use it as off grid

also what is tweak for 5.5kva generator so we charge on cloudy days

can you  please a drawing a diagram of how it will be must be best setup Limpopo and also what angel  . running on floor on steel beam till i have roof to put it on .

That's really low for 3.2 kW nominal of panels. But it sounds like they are mounted temporarily, and in the wrong configuration (you still haven't confirmed that they are wired 4S).

When you say cuts off, do you mean the PV power is zero?

Is the PV icon present, not present, or flashing?

See FAQ #7.

Please see photo of panel icon and lay out of panels . I have idea that the panels my not connected good so I am gone re connect then with ferrals seams the connector that panels get shipped with is not connecting very good

Your electrical layout is good; it's 3S 4P. Three panels in series in each string; 4 strings in parallel. For 30 V Vmp panels, this is the best layout.

SCC firmware (U2 on your model) version 04.12 is a common version for Axperts, model MKS (not MKS II or MKS III). So it's well tested firmware. Though I don't have a copy to check for glitches and bugs etc.
