Parallel function of Deye inverter

Featured Replies

I have a 5kw Deye inverter and is very happy with it. I want to go completely offgrid but the 5kw is just not enough. now my question is should I get another 5kw in parallel or should I replace the 5kw with a 8kw. Do 2x5kw give u 10kw or is there some lost with the parallel, will 2x5kw start a motor like a 8kw or will there be a delay between the 2 inverters? I also want to add my geyser on the smart load function? will this be possible with 2 x5kw or is one 8kw better?

Thanks. I have a gas geyser for backup so the cloudy days are no problem. I don't want the geyser to work from my batteries on the cloudy days, so I think the smartload is perfect. If there's enough sun we will save gas, if not we use the gas geyser.

I did use the Smart Load function with my geyser ( 2 kW element ), when the battery soc and excess pv conditions were met, Smart Load would switch on and work fine, and if it switched off due to not meeting one of the conditions, the Smart Load won’t switch on for the second time in that particular 24 hour period, even if the two conditions were met again, in other words it was not consistent.
