Hi. I conpleted a Sunsynk 5kw installation. The problem I foyns is the distance from the db to garage where installation was done is +- 14m away. I hear that the ct coil wire lengh must not exceed 10meters. Is this critical or can I extend it a bit longer with thicker cable ie 1.5 twin&earth. There are no pv's connected yet but will cone in future.

Regards Otto

You can use twisted pair. No need to look at thick cable. It is interference that is the main problem at the high frequency of the CT circuit.

It's not critical...you can e tend using UTP cable, I extended mine with a 15m ethernet cable and it works great

Sorry forgot to ask. Do you combine the twisted pairs in the utp cable as there are nirmally 4 or 6 pairs or is one pair's thickness sufficient for the signal/current flow

My electrician combined the pairs for me - i wasn't sure about this but it seems to work. I've seen other installs where they used a single one and it also worked

Hi i have installed a 5kw inverter, the problem im having is as soon as the ac is lost(loadshedding) the inverter does not produce an output but after a few minutes it starts up again and goes back to normal

Could be an earthing issue - the inverter should immediately and automatically switch over

You should not use twin and earth for the ct coil, it needs to be the same or similar type wire for it to work correctly. Also, according to a live stream video Keith from sunsynk was asked about the distance of the CT coils, it can sometimes work upto 20 meters on some installations.. They are also working on wireless CT coils but i think they are still in development. Try the distance out, and see.

It can also be a loose connection on the wires or the bonding. But it could ALSO be a faulty inverter. I had the same issue with a Deye 12kw that turned out to be faulty. I replaced it with a brand new 12kw Sunsynk 2 days ago and now that problem has been solved.

What can cause the CIUX meter reader to give PLC CON error,,when ever the supply to inverter from grid is ON.the CT is connected and zero export is ticked, limit to load ticked, priority load ticked.
