June 26, 20215 yr Has anyone connected a Pylontech UP5000 (4.8kwh) battery to an Axpert mks inverter?
April 25, 20224 yr Hi @Firoz, did you end up doing this? I've just tried connecting a brand new Pylontech UP5000 to my MKS4 inverter, and they're having trouble talking to each other (The inverter outputs error code 61 after about 3 minutes, which means it has lost comms with the battery).
April 25, 20224 yr Author Hi Ben You welcome to give me a call on 0824515786 Did you use a standard network cable or the one supplied. In both cases the pin out configuration would be incorrect. You will need to make a comm cable with the following configuration: Also make sure that the Dip Switches are correct. Usually Dip 1 is ON Below is just a photo to indicate the nubering on the RJ45 plug
April 25, 20224 yr Thanks @Firoz! I ended up using a cable that shipped with my inverter, with the label "Pylon" on one side. The key thing that I did wrong, was I plugged the cable in the wrong way around. The side marked "Pylon" needs to be plugged into the battery. Once I swapped the cable around, it all worked 100%. But thanks for the detailed diagram. I'm sure somebody on the internet will be needing it at some point.
October 3, 20232 yr Hi Gents. I have a 5.6 Axpert with UP5000 pylontech battery. I tried a standard cable and a cable that someone made up for me. Both cables give me no comms. Firoz will the same solution as explained to Ben also work on my configuration? Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Please just make sure that the cable is plugged in to the correct ends and the Dip Switch 1 is on. Also that you have chosen "PYL" on setting 5
