July 28, 20215 yr Hi guys, what cable do you use to connect the inverter to watchpower app on your laptop. Thank you kieftus.
July 28, 20215 yr Author There is no RS232 port on the inverter or on my laptop. Can you link from the watchpower program on the laptop to the inverter via wifi? I am trying to find what version of firmware i am running. Thank you
July 28, 20215 yr Author What I notice on the max, is that it always seems to have the bypass arrow shown, even when you set it to SBU (battery full), the bypass disappears for a short time (sometimes), and then returns. Even on manual timer setting, the bypass is always shown?. I was thinking there is a newer firmware update?
July 28, 20215 yr Author Thank you for all your input. I have the software on the cell. It shows 2 firmwares. Is this the latest? I do have the 69 warning, i just ignore. I just don't know why the bypass shows when i know i have enough solar and battery to cover the load when set on SBU.
July 28, 20215 yr Author I have 2x2.4 pylontechs... I have minimal load on the inverter and 3.7kw of panels. 1 string of 9
July 28, 20215 yr Author I am planning to put my 200l geyser onto the system via a timer set between 12 and 16.00.via a change over switch back to eskom when load shedding.... And may be change element from 3kw to a 2kw.
July 29, 20215 yr Author Made up a bms comm cable.. And pylontechs communication is successfully working, besides the #69 warning. Do you know if there is a later firmware version. Thank you for your advice

August 2, 20215 yr 4 hours ago, Kieftus said: There is no RS232 port on the inverter There will be, hidden as an RJ-45 connector (looks like an ethernet port). It's the port on the end with the screen and keyboard icon. The inverter should have come with a cable that adapts this to a standard D9 connector. You can use this with a USB to RS-232 adapter. But WiFi and/or Bluetooth should also be available. The phone app is (or was) missing a few details, such as removable display firmware version.
