Hi Everyone

i need some clarification on the setting for my Axpert Inverter  (managed via Watchpower... for now)

I have read manual on Watchpower, but they dont really clear things up for me on its meaning

• What does the SBL stand for  (i assume it is for Solar - Batteries - Utilities
• I have no idea what the second part of the string means - UCB\UDC

SBL means solar energy is to be used for Battery charging first, then Load. SLB means solar energy is to be used for Loads first, then charging the Battery. This doesn't appear in all models. See for example an Axpert King manual, setting 16.

The UDC or UCB stands for Utility is Disabled for Charging, or Utility Charge Battery (utility charging disabled or enabled, respectively). Each of the four options for this setting are a combination of SLB or SBL, and UDC or UCB. So you choose battery or load priority, and utility enable or disable, all in one complicated setting.

For other models, there may also four setting options, but they work differently. For example on mine, they are called CSO, CUT, SNU, and OSO. As an example, SNU allows for Solar aNd Utility charging, but you don't get to prioritise battery or load. Watchpower should figure out what model it is talking to, and tailor these settings to what your inverter model needs.

In summary, when the Watchpower documentation isn't clear, you can guess which setting is involved, and go to the documentation for that setting, in the user manual for your inverter's model. Usually, there will be a little more detail there.

Thank you for that explanation, i thought that is what it might mean, but i had to be sure.....

 

The reason i ask is because i have now joined the solar club, and i want to run the house on solar for as much as possible (as most would who has done so i guess), and use the batteries and then Eskom last (but use solar to charge and maintain the charge as much as possible)
