  1. Hi All It seems that this issue is starting to become more and more eminent on the sunsynk 5kW inverters. Randomly and only after loadshedding ends when the inverter returns to normal operation the inverter disconnects the load for about 1min and then after reconnects and works fine Any one had this issue before and had success in solving
  2. Hi, Friend of mine recently connected his sunsynk 8kw inverter and dongle. He can definitely see that the dongle is connected to the inverter and network when he goes into the equipment tab. There he can see the data coming in. The issue is the power flow data is showing nothing. Anyone experienced this before?
  3. Hi, I have got a solar assistant installed with my inverter and checking it via my phone. I do however have a amazon alexa echo show that I want to utilize to show me the data. Is there a way to use home assistant to showcase the basic parameter of my inverter?

  7. Hi All, This might be a topic that has been discussed a few times but would like to get closure on this. The setup: A typical house DB that has a 63A mains, 63A E/L and common circuits wired.\ 5kw Sunsynk Inverter that will feed the essential circuits in the above main house DB. The inverter will get its own protection DB i.e has a CB feeding the inverter, CB on the output of the inverter and a bypass switch and SPD. When looking at SANS 10142-1 Figure P.3 it shows my typical setup. I will have a single pole installed in my house DB feeding my inverter protection DB which feeds the inverter. Then the question, many house DB's have limited space to add circuit breakers so adding the single pole will be doable. according to the diagram you will have to install a ups main switch in the house DB or E/L that can act as mains. What do I do if I do not have the space to add this UPS main switch in my house DB. WIll it be sufficient to label my house DB and say that in case of emergency isolate at inverter DB as well? what is the industry standard on this. Please advise with reference to standards or industry practice.
  8. As far as I am aware you will not get two black and two red in one cable. What you can do though is the ends that you use you can heat shrink with the correct colour being red and black. I cannot find something explicitly saying you cannot use the same cable
  9. Hi I see lately that installers like to use a 4 core cable with earth for the supply to the inverter and the output from the inverter to the house DB. If you size the circuit breaker feeding the inverter and the circuit breaker from the output of the inverter feeding back to the house DB correctly is there any SANS standard that prohibits the use of the same cable. Being that it is double insulated i.e surfix for example 4core 6mm2 plus earth. Please feel free to comment and point me to a standard or best industry practice.

  11. Hi Everyone, I have been doing some homework and calculations with regards to the maximum size solar panels a 5kw deye can accomodate. According to the datasheet it has two MPPTs each capable of handling 11A. Looking at the JA solar 460W panels and all the parameters, location etc its seems that the output current that these panels can produce might just be over 11A i.e 11.45A Has any else used the 460W with a 5kw Deye/sunsynk?

  15. Hi All, Currently I have 12x 410W panels installed. 6x panels in series connected to the first input on MPPT1 and 6x panels in series connected to MPPT2 first input. Thus has room for a second string for MPPT1 input 2 and MPPT2 input 2. I am looking at another set of 12x455W panels, 6 in series and then connected to input 2 at MPPT1 and MPPT2. My question, will the fact that the VOC and ISc differ between the 410W and 455W cause any issues when connecting a 410W panel sized string to MPPT1 input 1 and a 455W panel sized string connected to MPPT1 input 2 and same for MPPT2? Any one done this before?
  16. The mecer i am looking at has the following specs: like i mentioned it should only be able to power a tv,one light and small hisense fridge.   20. Looking for a 12V 1000W inverter that can pull a small fridge and Tv for the duration of loadshedding (around 4 hours). Have looked the mecer 1200VA MPPT version that can accept lithium batteries as well as the axpert 1.2kW.   21. correct that I understand. This is for a off-grid setup. During the day these panels can produce roughly 21kWp per hour. The question is relative, I want to know if these panels can charge the batteries from 20%SOC to 100% within a 6 hour peak sun span with the assumption there is no load connected hypothetically. Thus the solar panels is only there to charge the batteries during the day. This is just a theoretical exercise I want to do in order to determine if the amount of panels is sufficient.
  22. so the batteries can be charged at 100A cont. I am not saying that is is charged at that current although it can. So these are the HV batteries rated at 614V, which is correct. The question is what the correct method will be to determine the average charge time with the amount of panels (36x600W panels).
  23. Hi, I have seen multiple methods to calculate the charging time of a lithium battery via solar panels/inverter. What is the correct way to calculate the charging time of a battery assuming the continues battery charging current being 100A that the inverter can output to the battery. The setup I am referring to is roughly 21kWp of solar per hour, 50kW inverter and then 2x freedom won 60/48HV batteries (614V per battery battery with cont charge current of 100A each) Would appreciate the input.
