Solis 6KVA with Greenrich setup
Good morning, I have a Solis S6-EH1P5K-L-PLUS currently paired with a Shoto battery. Communication seems to be problem so changing battery to a Greenrich WM5000 (AW7500). Please advise on the battery settings as I don't see any but I know PF selling it as a pair as well. Also please advise on the cable needed for BMS comms - will the battery pack include this - will be running 2 x Greenrich batteries. Thanks Johan

Gas geyser - coastal use
Hi, I want to add a gas geyser to a house in the Western Cape. I have learned with the solar side some inverters are better suited for the Coastal conditions (first Axpert lasted 7 months and rust got the better of it). Any recommendations for a Fan Forced Gas Geyser that will last in the coastal climate? Seems a Weather guard will be needed as well, just want to confirm any models / brands to rather avoid. Thanks

Luxpower SNA5000 vs Prepaid and supplying none essentials
Hi there, My setup: 2 x Luxpowers SNA5000 in parallel 8 x Pylontechs = 22Kwh 8KW PV Solar and electrical geyser in Serie with Geyserwise on both of them. CoT recently replaced all meters with Prepaid in our area. How do I supply power to none essentials (Geyser) during the day as I have more than enough PV to do this. My understanding is the SNA5000 does not support this, newer models have a CT. Can I switch on the export to grid function, and this will supply extra PV to the geyser during the day - what will happen to the Prepaid meter? Anything else I can do? If I can get that working, I won't be need Eskom for much unless on rainy days.

Batteries - more vs less ah
Hi, Considering to upgrade by batteries. My currently setup: Pylontechs 3 x US2000 50ah 1 x US2000C 50ah 1 x US3000C 74ah If I add 2 more US3000c's it will take me to 20.1 kwh, at 322 ah. How does this compare to 4 x 5.1kwh 100ah batteries? Is there a big difference, noticeable for avg household? Current setup has on avg 700 cycles and 96% SOH. I considered selling the stack but secondhand market filled with scammers and bargain hunters. The price difference in expanding vs new is R25k +. The current stack served me well, is the money worth the real benefit if any?

Battery amps 100ah vs 50ah
Hi there, Currently have 4 x US2000 Pylontechs and thinking of adding 2 more. Also considered moving to 3 x 5.12 Shoto's which are 100ah. Question, the pylons being 50ah and the shoto 100ah, 6 x 50 gives me 300amp and 3 x 100 also 300amps. Does this mean its like for like? Also thinking, if 1 fails, you only lose 2.4kwh, where on the bigger units you lose 1/3 of your capacity.

Shoto SDA10 and SDC10
Hi all, I currently have a Shoto SDC10 48100 and thinking of adding 2 more. However the other 2 are SDA10-box 5, 5.12kwh. Can they mixed in the same stack with Luxpower inverters? Thanks

Kodak / Inverter surge protection with aircons
So on the 8, they said all but 4 poppped and have to replace them all. They upgraded them from 70 ampa to 80 amps Caps, all I know it is the 2 big caps according to repairer. Got inverter back, this time it was on the charger side.... First time it happened there was Eskom and Pv, around 13:00 however inverter was on SBU. Second time was loadahedding, only battery early morning. The repairer said it can be inrush from ac/pump that might benon its way out or dirty power when eskom returns... either way I am still unsure why or what is causing this and why now after 2 years but seems that with inrush when on 48v side it burns caps/mosfets even if 220v is there it happens instand.

Kodak / Inverter surge protection with aircons
Hi there, Kodak 7.2kw inverter, 4 x Pylontech US200c batteries and 2 x PV arrays total 8kw, used for over 2 years no problems. 4 weeks ago, switch on an Aircon during the day, and suddenly all the batteries tripped. After fault finding determined the 12v has popped. Booked in for repairs, and confirmation all 8 x mosfets and Caps burnt. Got repaired, worked perfectly for 2 weeks with swimming pool pump, borehole pump and ac running (different times). Last week switched different AC unit on, popped again! Why is this happening? Should the inverter not have internal protection for this and why when on SBU only, both inverter, batteries and PV big enough to carry load. Was workind great for 2 years... what protection should I had to avoid this? Internal inverter fuse working Surge protection in main db a d pv side and fuses for batteries. As it stand I am not sure what is causing this, why or what can I not switch on when... Any advise?

Thanks - will send inverter in for repairs as I suspect the same

Kodak tripping Pylontech batteries
Can this come from the inverter seeing that with the fuse link open they are fine?

Kodak tripping Pylontech batteries
Thanks will google the software and get a cable

Kodak tripping Pylontech batteries
If I measure at fuses they are on 52.4v

Kodak tripping Pylontech batteries
Correct, all cables disconnect. If you power the bank as a whole, they start up, if you power them individualy they start up, if you close the fuse, they trip
