  1. login with your account at https://shinemonitor.com check if you have the data logger there and delete it. Then wait some days (up to one week) use smart ESS app (not the smart client - as Eurard suggested)

  4. hello guys, Someone know the administrator password for PMODBUSTOOS (I guess it is the same as for the PBMSTOOLS) ? This Pmodbustoos is the only software that works, I cannot make the Pbmstools to work, it times out on the "serial port" - same cable, same com-port I use the USB to RS485 adapter.
  5. FYI The current firmware is 72.40. I tried to upgrade the firmware, no matter what I try, every time it fails to upgrade. (it just times out)
  6. Thanks for your advice ! I will give it a try and feedback.
  7. Hi Coulomb, you are right, most of these clones just come with crappy firmware BTW, the graphs above are from www.dessmonitor.com. Once you register an account through Smartess (and setup WIFI), you can using the same account and login to that site. Some information for the members here that are struggling with SmartEss (don't ask me how I know ) It is much easier to register your account at www.dessmonitor.com and only setup the wifi part using smartEss. It works like a charm. The same account works on both. This site is very helpful because it has a debug mode and can send the HEX strings to read and set settings remotely. it also has a firmware update section where you just dump the .hex file (but, yeah... firmware upgrade through the internet or local wifi... hmmm) Have a look to the inside (attachment), the DSP is 320F2809PZA, I have a spare controller board anyway, so I don't care I brick it, which firmware would be the best possible one to try for upgrading? Thanks for your reply
  8. Hello friends, I have a REVO III 8kw. This inverter is connected with a battery (I use my existing working house battery as test), grid and 2x PV input (total of 5Kw solar power) Each PV input has around 243 Vdc. Battery is full loaded. The problem is that the inverter keeps taking lots of power from the grid, and never disconnects from the grid. On the screenshot, you can see that on 843Watts, it only take 523Watts from PV, the rest from grid. I measured with a clamp meter, and it is correct. When I manually disconnect the grid, the load will continue to work but the battery is discharging. (now it takes the 300+ watts from the battery in stat of the grid) I am sure that there is more than enough solar power for the complete load. at a small load, e.g. 100 watts, it is taking nothing from the PV. Sorotec already sent me a replacement controller board, but the same issue with this new board. No matter I put SBU, Solar and utility, I configure NO battery, battery:user, factory reset and reconfigure all, etc... it all makes no difference. **btw, this is a brand new inverter. (it is very very difficult to send it back to China, many discussions... I guess you know how it goes ...) Someone have a clue ? thanks a lot!
  9. Just as an update, ZSDE is absolutely correct, many websites say that it are 2 independent MPPT connections, each can handle 500 VOC. I have seen many people complaining about the Axpert MAX II 8kw clones, all related with MPPT tracking not working correctly...
  10. Maybe in stat of testing your solar panels, you could borrow another inverter somewhere and test, this will split your possibilities in half
  11. Hi ZSDE, Thank you VERY much for your answer! I was thinking the same, but had some doubts... I have 6 panels (550W - VOC 49VDC) in serie on each input (total of 12 panels - 6600W - 3300W per input) That should be good, right? Because I already have 2 inverters that died on that installation, one Sorotec 8kw, one SAKO sunpolo 8kw The Sorotec inverter works a little bit, meaning it just does strange things, knowing for sure that the panels should give min. 5kw output (full sun), at a load of 500w / 1kw / 2kw it takes power from the grid. Even sometimes there is a load of e.g. 300watts, it shows that it takes 2300 watts from the panels..... The SAKO give: running status fault, no AC output, even without PV input. I am sure about the whole installation, PV connection strings into the inverter (polarity), no voltage leak, etc... I measured everything with a voltmeter. (I have around 282 VDC per string) SO I was wondering about the Max VDC input per MPPT. The word "array" confuses me as in "Maximum PV array Open Circuit Voltage" thank you
  12. Hi Guys, Something that is not very clear to me in the manual of these 8kw inverters. These have two PV inputs, is it maximum 500VDC VOC per input, or 250VDC VOC per input (total of 500VDC per 2 PC inputs)? thanks a lot!
  13. @razzor13bt Did you ever measure with a voltmeter (on DC) between the "+" and ground (PE) and the "-" and ground (PE) of your strings? The DC measurement should be close to 0 Volts.
  14. www.dessmonitor.com maybe this could help you out
  15. I have a new Sunpolo 8kw inverter (the inside is exactly as the Axpert Max 7200-48). When I power on the unit, the display works, but it comes with an error on display: running status: failure. No matter what working mode I choose, solar, AC, etc... it never output AC (AC output is 0V) I checked both fuses inside and did a visible inspection, however nothing looks burned ... I never hear a relay clicking, the power switch makes no difference (on - off) Can someone point me in the right direction where to search? Thanks a lot !!!!!
  16. Hi Coulomb, Thank you very much for your clarification, it all makes sense now I saw in some hybrid inverter manuals that they talk about the pf = 1.0, but I guess that is only the output pf? This makes me think of another question regarding the size calculation of a solar system e.g for a guest house with many A/C units, fridges, etc... Calculating the solar system size based on their utility bill would never be correct ? Thanks again, I'm glad to be on this forum
  17. Hi Scorp007, Thanks for your reply. No, I have no load connected (output wires off), it is only the inverter that consumes that much. I just bought a new AMP meter (to make sure), I have the new AMP meter and also the AMP clamp, they both show the same result, around 2 Amps current. To give you an idea, you take an inverter and just plug into a socket and measure the current it draws, in my case this is 2Amps. 2Ax230V = 460W that is the consumption of the inverter. This consumption of the inverter is always present - even with PV power, load or no load. Looking at the manual it says that the inverter itself should consume less than 35W, this is about right for most of the inverters ... I have no idea why this happen, is this a problem with all these models of inverters or could this be a broken electronic part? regards
