  1. It sounds like the inverter and the battery is not communicating via the comms cable. Not so great to set up a Lithium Ion battery with user define settings. When connecting up a Lithium Ion battery (including the comms cable) the inverter and the battery should be able to communicate and the inverter should pickup all the default settings of the battery. This is to say if the pin config. on the comms cable is correct. I have personally stopped using the Growatt brand and exclusively install Deye as a primary and LuxPower as slightly cheaper option. I some large systems. Best advice is to get rid of the Growatt and go to Deye/SunSynk (Deye manufactures inverters for SunSynk and it's only the interphase that is different) or if it you want to go a bit cheaper due to finances then LuxPower is next best bet. There are other good quality inverters out there, but these are the ones I use for supply and install. The Growatt (in my opinion - and this might cause a bit of noise - I hope not) is just a fancy Axpert copy in a suit, like thousands of others.
  2. He probably said not to hand out his number as the quantity of complaints will cause his phone to crash.... Thank you. I'll will mail him.
  3. @Antonio de Sa you are very lucky. I am however using a different supplier.
  4. I would love to know how many people are experiencing problems with Growatt inverters and after sales service. I am a small business owner and does installations. I have had the same problem, first the unit shut down overnight. Sent it in, was told the motherboard was damage due to a surge, even though all the safety items were in place, and still functioning. Unit came back kept giving 0 output. Fitted a loan unit, which worked perfectly. The Growatt came back and still the same problem. Four times this unit was sent back. On re-installing the unit it made a load bang and obviously blew up, still with all the safety items in place and working. Re-installed the loan unit, runs with no problem. During all this I managed to get hold of manufacturer via mail who referred me to their South Africa office and local engineer, whom I was to phone on re-installing, but obviously I did not get that far. I did speak to him afterwards, and was informed that he would contact the supplier technical and repair department, and then get back to me as the unit was faulty. This was last week Friday afternoon and I gave him until Monday. On Monday I contacted him via message and still have not received a reply. This is seriously bad service, and in the meantime I have to try and keep my customer calm and waiting. I will definitely not use or promote the Growatt product again. I now dread that the time will come for the other units, installed, to fail.
  5. I am having endless poblems with a 3kva 48V Growatt, connected up as battery backup only, no panels. First the inverter malfunctioned about a month after being installed. Was working perfectly fine before that. No changes were made. It was send back to the importer/supplier who informed me that the motherboard was damaged and therefore the warranty is null and void. I accepted this as a power surge was very possible, although all the protection was in place and functioning. I gave the go-ahead for them to repair the inverter. They sent the inverter back and it kept giving a 0 output. I sent it back to the importers who could find no fault. Again was sent back to me. Again I am experiencing the same problem. I had my technician rewire the entire installation and still, the same problem. We have checked everything, electrical, batteries, items on the circuit, no faults. Now the inverter switches to 0 output and after about 10 seconds completely switches off. So I now have an additional problem. I then fitted a loan unit for my customer (a 3kva 48V Victron Multiplus) and the loan unit functions perfectly. Again I sent the Growatt to the importer who informs me that they find no fault with the unit, and don't know what to tell me or what the problem could be. Now I also have another customer that phoned me also with a 3kva Growatt and it seems like he is experiencing the same problem . I have even mailed the manufacturer, but no response yet. I seriously doubt that I will supply a Growatt again. I have never had any issues with any other brand. Can someone maybe give me some advice??? Mail or WhatsApp me please.
