  1. Hello, came across this battery brand. Sounds too cheap.. Any reviews on this battery. Website is https://wholesale-solar.co.za/shop/
  2. Thank you.. Looking into it 😁
  3. Thank you.. Interesting indeed.
  4. Thank you for the response, so I assume the black is North and the dark red is NE? Attached my location. When u say 35 deg roof angle you mean the roof or the actual angle of the panels when installed? Also assume JHB please
  5. Hello.. I want to install 14 panels however I only have space for 8 in the N direction and 3 in the NE and 3 in the E. My question is those that are placed in the NE and E direction.. Typically what time would PV production start and for how long?
  6. Thank you.. Will ask the installer 😁
  7. Hello.. Im looking at installing a 5kw deye and 2 x 5.1Shoto with 14 455w panels. How is the quality and reliability of the Shoto batteries and any issues with paring it with Deye? What about backup service of the Shoto batteries if there are any issues?
  8. Thank you, however I was looking for a double 3 pin socket as per my current non smart. I did email CBI, they are not coming out with a double plug version.
  9. Thanks..looking for double 3 pin. Similar to attached pic just smart
  10. I am looking for a smart 3 pin wall socket but it much have double socket. I see there are all single ones available what I have see so far. Anyone come across a double 3 pin? Thanks in advance
  11. Thank you, I spoke to an installer, they advised it is not a good idea to mix wattages. This has a challenge in the long term with BMS causing lower wattage to have dead cells etc
  12. However can you mix and match KW battery sizes? What I also like about them they are 1C unlike pylontech which are half C.
  13. BSL.. Or can you recommend other brand where I can do this?
  14. Hello.. I received a quote for a solar installation for one 8.1kw battery or 2x 5.1kw battery.. Can I take the 8.1kw version and later only add a single 5.1 kw if I need more battery power? The 2x5.1lw system is working out more expensive at the moment. Regards
  15. Thanks for the feedback.. How do I setup the inverter to use the PV power? Must I set it up as essential? However if you here is load shedding I don't want it to go on if there is no sun or raining day so how do I setup my installation for this?
  16. Thanks for your feedback. Where can I get these smart switches from and more information? Also how do you manage heating? Like oil heaters or Aircons?
  17. Thanks for the feedback.. Hear pump is also around 20k odd.. Oil heater on low consumes around 1kw and heating is better and lasts longer than aircon and noise is zero.
  18. Hello, I am looking to purchase a solar system however my biggest challenge is heating. My general lights / TV / Appliances I can get away with a 5kw system, however I want to know the best way to manage an electric geyser and oil heaters. I have read two options: 1. Install a geyserwise type of PV system with 2/3 panels and manage with built in timer. Costs around R20K installed. This therefore means a dedicated system for the geyser and as soon as PV is available, you can heat up your geyser. 2. Purchase a large inverter (8kw) and add extra 2 panels and this would be less expensive than option 1 above? This would obviously be a deye or sunsynk However, how do I get option 2 to work as I read the Sunsynk and Deye units have the smart output function however there are criteria of >90% battery charge etc. if lower the output would be off and therein the geyser would also be off and the PV would not charge. Any ideas or what are other people doing in this space of geyser management and thoughts of the above I mentioned? Then, oil heaters, how do I manage this for the 3/4 months of JHB winter as I do not want to use gas in the bedrooms as I do not like the smell and risky to run an open flame for the entire night. Appreciate it folks :)
