  1. Yes, both lights are working, A he connected Eskom and B the inverter
  2. Hello.. I got a Deye hybrid inverter, for now I don't have panels as yet. My installer put a auto changeover switch(attached pic) which switches automatically when grid is lost. That works perfectly. Only challenge when in grid mode(I.e, Eskom is there) my inverter does not show any usages of grid or house. Surely this is not correct? How do I get usages to show on my inverter when grid is there?
  3. Good choice.. Only issue if you need more battery then you have to buy in denominators or 8.2kw 😏..
  4. Quick question.. How do you knw if both battries are talking correctly with the inverter and charging and discharging at the same rate? You don't want one to be discharging or charging faster than the other as this puts more strain on one of them
  5. Mine as well.. Or should have gone with Pylontech
  6. Hello.. I have 2 Shoto batteries that is walled mounted. I see it has an earth connection on the chassis. Must I connect this earth if I am not using a cabinet? If so, where must I connect the earth to? Bracket of the battery??
  7. Thank you, which inverter you have if I may ask?
  8. Thank you, looks good. Have you used it or using it?
  9. Hello, I recently installed my solar system (Deye and 2X shoto 5.1kw) and currently using the Solarman Smart app version. I have a few issues with it: Refresh rate is only 20min odd, so not really real time Cannot do details analysis etc etc What alternatives do I have to get more real time information and be able to do more analysis to better understand my usages so I can intervene at the correct times to reduce my reliance on Eskom. Thanking you in advance
  10. Hello, did you come right with the comms? I just installed a system this weekend and want to know how to connect the two batteries together and what cable to use?
  11. Hello, How do you know if this comms is working? How do you verify on the inverter or battery? Also to confirm, Std CAT5 LAN fly lead can be used? Nothing fancy like a crossover etc...
  12. Hello, I have 2 shoto batteries however I do not have the battery to battery comms cable as the one that comes in the box is too short. So for now the comms is not great. Do you know where I can get this comms cable from?
  13. Hello, I have 2 shoto batteries and I need to connect the one comms port to another.. Can anyone advise if this is just a general Cat 5 cable or is it special? I can make it myself as I do have access to network cables and crimpers. Can anyone share the pin layout? Thanking you
  14. Thank you everyone for all your input.. The installer missed out a cable connection...its now resolved.. When Eskom resumes the essentials still run off battery whilst the 1min timer is counting down, once done the non essentials get power and there is no blackout period... Love this forum.. Appreciate all the assistance 🙏
  15. Essential loads have power when grid is down. When grid returns entire house essential and non essential has no power for that 1min
  16. Tested is again.. Entire house has no power when Eskom kicks back after I am on battery power..
  17. The installer is coming back today to complete the COC etc.. Let me as him..
  18. That's what I also don't understand
  19. Is this a wiring issue or inverter setting issue?
  20. When we were simulating Eskom failure yesterday it was @7pm .. The entire power in the house was off and it was dark for that 1min. Typically load shedding can start at from 6pm to 8pm..by that time is already dark and peak family activity time.. So when Eskom kicks in, I'm in darkness FOR that 1 min period which is scary and not safe.
  21. Ouch.. I always thought that having an inverter system makes life very easy whereby you would not even know when Eskom drops and returns unless you have light indicators on your installation.
  22. Hello.. I just had a 5kw deye system installed with 2 batteries no PV. When I lose Eskom..no issue battery kicks in almost immediately, however when Eskom resumes and the system needs to go back to grid, there is almost a minute or longer I have to wait until the power resumes. Is this normal? If not, how do I resolve this is it an invertor setting or wiring issue? Thanking you in advance
  23. Hello, How is your wiring such that you can also run your geyser through the inverter rather than grid? My understanding, this inverter cannot push extra PV to essential loads as it is not a true Hybrid invertor? Also do you run the geyser on battery as well in the evening?
