  1. Ok, need to revisit this subject and again want to know if this would work. I kept the two banks, seperate and on two different inverters, so that became a non issue. Now I received 2 X 4.8 Kw 100Ah 48V Hoselect (15Cell prismatic) from a friend that never installed it as he decided to Emmigrate. Would these be compatible with my Dyness bank? Looking at the specs I can find on the Hoselect it seems to be the same battery, but cannot say for sure about the BMS. Any input would be appreciated.
  2. Ok gentleman now that I am properly confused can I just summerize as I now understand based on your input. Caveat: I did not do these installations and they were done by 2 different installers Deye 8kW Hybrid Inverter SunSynk 8kW Hybrid 12 x 480 W Powitt panels (6S2P) 14 x 540W JA panels 2 x Dyness BX48100 2 x Hubble AM-2 Deye definetely not exporting to grid or Solar sell and never have Fig1. Fig 2. Sunsynk is then doing the right thing ? Deye was only giving me contantly high PV output (nice Bell curve) because there were contant high loads on it (batteries, pool etc.) So there is no way to tell what the PV output at any given time is ? as it will clip down to Load + X How do I tell my PV arrays efficiency under any given set of adverse conditions (rain, cloudy etc) or do I just take it at face value or put it under constant high load for a day or two to get a baseline and then take it at face value? If Solar export is selected or enabled the CT won't stop it from exporting to grid?
  3. Okay, on my Deye I am running Zero Export to load the other two options being export to grid and Zero export to CT. Is the Sunsynk different?
  4. HI, yes the UPS side is correct and the data is correct. See attached my Deye 8kw with same PV and same battery setup. Maybe I am expecting something from the Sunsynk it cannot deliver but seeing as it is basically the same Inverter I am not sure. The Deye gives a continious W reading of what the PV in generating and that is reflected in the flow diagram irrespective of the load. Not tr Fig 1. The Sunsynk on the other hand gives a reading for Solar output = Load + 65W (inverter ??) Fig 2. So I am expecting something like Fig 3. and Power Flow that reflect that data points on the green Bell Curve but instead I am getting Load + 65W. So if Load is 450W , power flow solar Icon shows at 516W. If I add load the Solar increase with it. My problem is I have no idea what my actual PV output is based on the power flow diagram Fig 4. STAYS AT LOAD + 65 Am I expecting something the Sunsynk doesn't do or am I looking in the wrong place? When I look at the PV in detail same thing....CLIPPED Fig 5. It is driving me nuts.
  5. Thanks for the answer, have the CT in place now and for most part it seem to stop the feed back into the grid, but I still have no idea what my PV output is under the settings. What is the correct system mode as I currently have Zero Export + Limit to load only and Solar export off and the data is definetly not right as far as PV is concerned.
  6. Thanks Tony, the guys are here now doing that, I'll make sure that they are aware of it. My main concern is stil that with my settings as it currently stand Zero Export + Limit to load only ... the reading for my PV is fine as long as the load is high (charging batteries etc.) The moment the load drops the solar data seems to clip down to only load + inverter power (input data being driven by output requirement) If I add load the solar output goes up with the load requirement. I need to know what my PV output is in reality. Is this due to the lack of the CT or due to a faulty setting on the System mode On my Deye my solar output is being displayed as the real W available at that moment, irrespective of the load, but then again I have a CT on that inverter with an essential and non-essential side.
  7. Have a question that has me baffeled and I might just be missing something or am just stupid. Have a solar installation with Sunsynk 8KW inverter 14 x JA 540W panels and 2 X Hubble AM2 5.5Kw lithium batteries. When the install was done the installer was unable to finish the CT install as the cable was to short. Rest of the installation was completed and system brought online. Now I am having some issues around the data as given by the Inverter. My question is really, "Is this due to the CT not being present or is there some other issue here?" and what System mode can I use to get around this. Living with D is probably the closest to real except power load will never be right. See attached pis of the system mode and the data output and the problem I have around it or is this just something I have to live with till that CT is in place. A) PIC 1 and 2 (Solar panel output is not correct...is this being cliped to only give required fot load?) B PIC 5 and 4 (Have no idea what this is ( battery feed and solar feed, but not enough to do anything, but load is still powered in real life) C) PIC 6 and 7 (Closer to the real solar output but feeding into the grid) D) PIC 8 and 9 (The real solar outpu, no grid feed but not anywhere close to real load) Just want no feed into grid, Load priority and battery charge on overflow. Any guidance will be much appreciated
  8. 20220705-20220706 adjusted for UTC, interestingly by Solcast predictions 16H45 is the last useable light or at least measurable then it just goes dark, while I am getting output till after 18H00. Good silicon, high efficiency or angle looking at western horizon? Also looking at peak output time and the fluctuating data around that time, suspecting some shading from parapets entering into the picture, happens every day at around 12H30 to 13H15
  9. 10 X 480W The Sun Pays Mono panels 5S2P (170 Azi 20 incline) Caveats: Time period 05H30- 18H00 Incline might be steeper (based on architectual drawings not actual measurements) Shading might be present due to Parapet walls ( Seriously not spending my day 3.5 stories up checking where the shade is or is not) Think the Solcast APP is an hour lagging on actuals, as there is no light at 05H30 thids time of the year
  10. Got it installed on the 25/06 during the weird rainy period in Pretoria, so do not have much data. Unfortunately the location that the panels were supposed to go (North Facing 15 degrees incline) was not ready (trees not cut down yet) so I had to install in the least favourable position possible (South facing, 20 degrees inciine) Based on the solcast.com.au app and a predicted efficiency of 100% @90/10 shaded probability I am doing at or above predicted output up untill 12h30, but not reaching peak output at 13h00. Do have output till later than the model prediction so my guess is that the inclination might be more than 20 degrees, (didn't measure but took from the architectual drawings and some shading that I have not forseen) I will climb on the roof sometime this weekend to check the actual. Also have output earlier than model prediction, not huge wattage but my guess is that the 22.1% efficiency rating and quality of the Mono cells are as advertised. All in all I am very happy and actally at the point of ordering a pallet load (31) to double my panels and install some at a family members location. Original guess was that it was JA panels based on hole spacing, but the high efficiency rating and voltage/ampage make me believe it might be an European brand (German/Czech) or Powitt Solar Well in any case I am happy plus all things being equal, the price, the sales service, speed of service and access to TSP for me, at least ( I am in Pretoria) made this a win.
  11. Been having an issue with Solar system where a newly installed system is seemingly working properly but the Prepaid meter and the Inverter seems to disagree on how much power was purchased from the grid. Daily usage used to be 30-35 KW per day prior to the installation, but is still 30-35 Kw after the installation even on days where the inverter is showing 10-15 KW of power purchased. Seems that the prepaid is not differentiating between self generated and grid bought power. In the two examples below the meter deducted 9KW and 32.5KW respectively while in case of the 9KW period the system ran exclusively on battery except for a 45 minute period @2.5Kw/h. If the usage is the same after the installation of the system, what is the use of the system or is there some issue with the installation that does not allow for the differentiation between the power input sources and if so how do I mitigate that.?
  12. Quick question around this configuration: What is the Grid mode we use in ZA specifically Pretoria? What does error W04 (check meter port 485 A and B connect) mean, I had a F13 error grid mode changed and this immediately after. Now the error message stays on screen and alarm light stays on. How do I get rid of that message and alarm light.
  13. Question for those that know and have done as most pointy heads indicate that this cannot or should not be done. Have a Deye 8KW Hybrid inverter connected to 14 X 480W panels (7S2P) on two seperate strings Was waiting for my original battery bank (2 x 48V 150Ah Rentech) when a delay in arrival caused me to panic and buy a stop gap (2 x Dyness A48100) Both have now arrived and are brand new about to be installed. Question can these four bateries be installed in one bank, two banks or should I just get a second inverter and keep the packs seperate? According to my understanding it is do-able as both are LiFePo4 (prismatic) and as long as the BMS are compatible and charge/discharge is set to lowest common denominater should be fine. Any views or definative ideas around this would be appreciated. Use of charge controllers if needed will be no problem.
  14. Well will report on the efficiency and capability of the 480W panels as soon as they are up and running but based on the service from The Sun Pays up to this point it should be great. Bought and paid for yesterday at 13h00, delivered at 9h05 this morning. Free of charge (100km radius)
