Kodak OGX5.48 - Replacing comms board
Hi all had an unfortunate lightning strike nearby my house, and it would seem that I can no longer recognise my Kodak OGX5.48 as a USB device anymore. My best guess is the grounding of the comms board is not great, and so something was fried…? I can easily get a replacement, but are there any simple multimeter checks I can do to verify it is indeed the comms board that needs replacing (before I spend the cash and effort)? Yes precisely. I went straight from 71.92 through to 71.96. What you say makes sense. I did note that my QMUCHC command stopped working after the update. So perhaps I’ll try the new firmware to see if that gets fixed. Thanks again!

Unfortunately this didn't really change anything... Thanks Coulomb, will give the new firmware a try! Today I spotted something interesting, the "drops" tend to happen regardless, but I did notice an overall drop in PV input when the power came back. Check out the new picture I attached. This sort of feels temperature related, like maybe the inverter is throttling itself when it gets hot...?

Thanks for the response. Yes, it is indeed the MKS II. I believe my firmware is the latest (but could be wrong). It is version 71.82. Was busy trying to wrangle some more data and then realised the same thing happened today, so I have attached: The loads (as before) The SOC (as per the battery BMS) The charge current of the battery (positive means charging) The voltage of the battery The bulk and float voltages are at 52.5V and 52.3V, so the battery is not close to full from the inverter's point of view. Thanks, I do have those settings. Will see if they change anything when the grid is back on.

Hey PowerForum! I've recently started logging data from my Solar setup. I have a: Kodak OGX 5.48 inverter (5kVA off-grid) Dyness A48100 battery 1.8kW worth of Sun Pays solar panels. I've always noticed that the PV input on the inverter tends to "drop" intermittently, so charging the battery is never as efficient as it could be. But today I noticed something interesting about the drops: When my house load is larger than the PV input, I don't get any drops. When the utility power is off, I don't get drops. I seem to only get these drops when I'm running off-grid, but the utility is still available. I've dropped a picture in the attachments to show you what I mean. Notice that the house load is pretty low, and I'm getting around 1.3kW of PV input. On the left, you'll see the "drops" I'm talking about. Then at midday (when loadshedding kicks in) I stop getting the drops... Note that the whole time, I am running on "battery" mode. Is this normal?

Just curious, did you ever manage to figure out how to communicate via the COM port? I'm also trying to do the same...
