I've attached an (probably outdated) brochure that I have. I've seen their battery's at quite a few houses on the west coast and also saw the same batteries in use at Montagu caravan park. So far at approx 190 cycles the batteries have served us quite well. Apart from selling their own built batteries they also fix broken ones of almost any brands. I can recall seeing Alot of SolarMD batteries in the workshop due for BMS repairs when I went there to collect my batteries.- Felicitysolar batteries
Hi there, I bought them from Navitas energy in Stellenbosch 078 443 5272 Absolutely no issues after 6.5 months of use.- kWh usage before and after Solar installation.
- kWh usage before and after Solar installation.
Good moning Lads. The results for Februworry is in. We used a total of 6.7 kWh eksdom units for the month of Februworry. 2023 We used a total of 751 kWh eksdom units for the same month last year februworry 2022 2022 September = 21 kWh October = 26 kWh November = 9.5 kWh December = 9.8 kWh 2023 Januworry = 7.8kWh Februworry =6.7kWh Total Eksdom units used in 6 months = 80.8 kWh (R254.52 calculated at our rates -R3.15 per kWh.) Woke up this morning to battery bank levels at 36% because my wife decided to cook when it was dark last night and left the slow cooker on during the night with 2 fans running. None the less we only used 0.2 eksdom units during the night which is a win. I'm still saving up for 2 more batteries.- Planning for Solar - System now live 5kw Sunsynk Inverter and Battery
Not sure if it does. Cannot see that it will if the device is installed by a qualified electrician- kWh usage before and after Solar installation.
Aight ladies and gentlemen. The results for Januworry is in. We used a total of 7.8 kWh eksdom units for the month of Januworry. 2023 We used a total of 681 kWh eksdom units for Januworry 2022 2022 September = 21 kWh October = 26 kWh November = 9.5 kWh December = 9.8 kWh 2023 Januworry = 7.8kWh Total Eksdom units used in 6 months = 74.1 kWh (R233.41 calculated at our rates -R3.15 per kWh.) Aight nice savings and more money for Alimoney (cough* Cough*) Now to find a practical solution to my fuel expense...... E-bike maybe? Convert a old diesel to run on cooking oil? wind powered sailcart? imagine that🤭- kWh usage before and after Solar installation.
Alright. The results for December is in. For the Month of December we used a total of 9.8kWh. last year for the same period we used 495kWH Eskom usage seems more or less the same as last month. September = 21 kWh October = 26 kWh November = 9.5 kWh December = 9.8 kWh- Hubble Lithium Battery AM-2 5.5kWh
Clearly hubble knows of the bad batch sold in 2021. They should have recalled those units .- Hubble AM-2 cell welds coming loose, any others experienced this?
I read too often post's about hubble batteries not charging to full capacity or failing in general. the only thing most of them have in common is similar age ie. batteries bought in 2021 Bad batch maybe?- Noob...I have so many questions before I buy
The charging amps for the battery are set on the inverter according to the battery manufacturers recommendations.- Noob...I have so many questions before I buy
If you want to start in a modular way then start with a 5kw inverter and a 1c rated 5kw battery.Make sure the inverter can run in parallel with another. You can always add another inverter and battery later. We used approx 650kWh per month. We dont use gas. Everything is electrical ie. 2 electric geysers, 3 aircons, electric oven and electric stove. My wife runs a hair salon from home and use some power hungry salon equipment ie. Hairdryers, curling and straightening irons etc .. The system Literally carries the whole load. Our system consist of 8kw sunsynk inverter 3x 5kwh batteries 14x 545w canadian solar panels Currently our eskom usage sits at R76 pm or less.- Planning for Solar - System now live 5kw Sunsynk Inverter and Battery
Use a sunsynk approved installer. You can find one at the following link. https://www.sunsynk.org/approvedinstallers- Hubble AM-2 cell welds coming loose, any others experienced this?
another hubble another problem..... Best is ask for a refund or replacement.- Essential vs Non essential vs grid
I Guess it all comes down to the capability of the Inverter. To achieve a blend of Eskom and Solar you will require a hybrid inverter ie. Sunsynk and Deye. From personal experience, When eskdom is on and I draw more than what my inverter is capable of supplying, Then it sources the difference from eskdom. On the essential side we have never drawn more than 4.5kw. With essential and non essential load combined we have topped 9.1kw twice since going solar. We have however optimized our system accordingly to prevent it from happening to eventually go off grid 2023. Soon everything will be connected to the essential side and aux port for heavy load items ie geyser, oven.- kWh usage before and after Solar installation.
what was the reason for your appliances breaking? Did it not like the solar electricity?- kWh usage before and after Solar installation.
I'm quite confident that I'll be able to limit eskom usage to 20kWh. Last week we had mostly foggy , cloudy , rainy day's. and our system performed quite well. Even if our batteries don't fully charge we still manage to get by. Only time will tell.- kWh usage before and after Solar installation.
Update for November. November was a relatively good month with the exception of one extremely foggy day on 02/11/2022 Our batteries dropped below 50% SOC and the local municipal grid was off due to a substation that tripped when the power came back online after loadshedding. Total Eskom units used for November = 9.5kWh. We used 432 kWh for the same period in 2021. As mentioned in previous post's, the major contributing factor to our eskom usage is the grid prickle charge set at 20w. I'm looking forward to the winter month's to see how we can best optimize our system to limit eskom usage to sub 20kWh per month. One of the thing's I'm considering is moving aircon's, geysers, stove and oven onto it's own circuit with separate changeover switch from essential to non essential and vice versa but still keep the ct coil in place to allow excess solar to feed non essential load if I make the switch. Eskom usage summary: September = 21 kWh October = 26 kWh November = 9.5 Considerations - add more battery storage capacity for winter months.- kWh usage before and after Solar installation.
Update***** For the month of October we used a total of 26kWh from Eskom compared to 580kWH for the same month in 2021. September = 21 kWh October = 26 kWh The goal is to remain under 1 kWh Eskom units per day. Not sure how it will play out in winter.- Off-Grid Trial For August/September 2022
We got out esksdom usage down to 0.8 kWh per day. Our average monthly usage is about 600 - 650 kWh pm. Our Eksdom usage only contributes to the grid charge atm. I do however regret not opting for 2 x 5KW inverters instead of a single 8KW inverter.- Off-Grid Trial For August/September 2022
wow electricity is way cheaper there. 100 units will cost me R315- kWh usage before and after Solar installation.
I did the same. Set the geyserwise controller to heat from 11am to 4pm. To 55 degrees. The flatpanel pushes it beyond 70 degrees on most days mid to late summer the geyser averages 85 degrees. Winter months will be a different story since I've not been through a full winter with solar I reckon my geyser timers will need to be adjusted to kick in slightly later. We heat 1 geyser at 6 in the morning for the hairsalon. Even though it's on Non essential it draws about 10% battery power to heat up to 45 degrees.this usually leaves us with 63% average soc in the morning. By 10:00 our batteries are fully charged. Some days even earlier than that.- kWh usage before and after Solar installation.
I'd like to hear from everyone what their average kWh eksdom usage was before and after having solar installed We had solar installed mid August but decided to do my first reading in September and compare it to the same month of last year. For the month of September we used a total of 21 kWh compared to 512kWh for the same month in 2021. The 21kWh mostly contributed to the grid prickle charge set on the inverter. We still use a electric stove and oven,3 aircons 1 electric geyser and 1 flat panel solar geyser with a electrical element that we can use if the water did not heat properly during the day.Not bad Imo. the above mentioned is connected to the non essential load with the ct clamp in place to allow excess solar to feed non essentials. Our system consist of: 14x 545w canadian solar panels 8kw sunsynk inverter and 3x 5.12kWh navitas batteries. - Felicitysolar batteries
