  1. Hi folks, I have a cottage that has pre-paid elec. and no power backup of any sort. I'd like to explore and probably implement adding just the lights onto my main house inverter. The distance from the cottage db and the inverter installation (not main house db) is literally in the next room, so if you draw a bee-line in the shared ceiling space - perhaps 3 meters. The main house db is however about 12 meters away from the cottage db. 1. Can this be done to have just a single lights breaker in the inverter installation portion of the house? 2. I assume and am happy with the fact that the lights circuit will no longer be through the pre-paid meter. All the lights are LED, and will probably draw a max of 100w with an extractor fan in the cottage bathroom. Thanks so much for your time and help!
  2. Perhaps he got "favours" in return But seriously, we have a tenant that I've run an extension cord to. It's on a 600w UPS so it limits the amount that can be drawn before it shuts off. IE charging laptop, some lights or TV is fine...
  3. Crazy! Perhaps I should ask a professional to come and do this panel move for me to make sure its done correctly, and that the MC4's are joined properly...
  4. I have these panels: https://solarsupply.co.za/shop/panels-solar/znshine-solar-465w-panel-half-cell-mono-pv-module/ Will this be the correct spec cable? The length might be a little long but I can just loop it and secure it to a rafter...
  5. Great stuff, I'll follow the recommendation thank you!
  6. Hi folks, I have a single panel that I need to move, but it requires disconnection of one of the wires. What is the correct procedure to follow to disconnect, move and then re connect this panel? I assume DC switch off, and PV breakers dropped? Thanks very much!
  7. Looks kind of like a delimitation of the top layer? Similar to the clear coat on a car that peels...
  8. Agreed. But if water usage is an issue then running it at night won't be prone to evaporation as the water runs over the hot panels
  9. I vaguely remember a company is the States that does large scale panel maintenance where their system sprays water from the top down, and the run-off is then filtered and re-used. Its an automated closed system that probably runs when the sun is sleeping.
  10. On hold pending collection and payment from @hoohloc
  11. Bump on this post. Looking for R5k for both panels.
  12. Hey folks, In the past week or so I've noticed that Solarman keeps going offline for various lengths of time. Today has been particularly lengthy - since about 4am it's been offline. Is there anything that can be done to change to a different server or something? Its not my wifi connection but the servers that they connect to...
  13. Hey folks, Am I able to assign my inverter to be controlled by 2 admin users? The situation at the moment is I am a Solarman Smart user and the installer is the "business" user - I'd like to be able to change settings remotely but not boot the installer from the current status. Thanks!
