  3. Please see the pylontech can data I appreciate its not soltaro canbus data, but trying to get my head around canbus etc... Thanks LuxpowerTek CAN Protocol for communication between Storage inverter and battery.pdf
  4. Hi BritishRacingGreen Yes, i have the inverter.... you have the battery. Im thinking, if i knew what data your battery gives out, then replicate that in my BMS with the values from my battery, then surely my inverter should work. Really, i only need the inverter to know the max and min pack voltages, and stop the charge / discharge at the parameters set. I know the pylonyech is like this below Can ID 0x356 Byte Definition Unit Note byte 0 pack voltage 0.01v Single or average value for parallel modules byte 1 I`ll upload the Pylontech canbus data sheet as well. hopefully, there will be a solution, or a reverse engineer solution to get my battery to send data to the inverter that the inverter recognises and works from thanks all.
  5. hi Googy, great work. I have a Soltaro hybrid AC coupled inverter, and wanted to connect it to my own self build battery using reclaimed nissan leaf cells in a 14s configuration, 3 in parallel. I am using a DIYBMS by Stuart Pittaway, this has CAN capability. since having the soltaro inverter have found out that it only orks with the Soltaro battery, and Soltaro have refused to give me any CAN information to enable me to write the basic can protocols into my bms. Not wanting much as the bms controls and protects the battery, just want the inverter to recognise the battery and get it to work. Id assume all i need is max charge cut off, min charge cut off charge discharge parameters, anything else would be a bonus. Can you add any info for me? thanks Anthony.
  6. just had a reply from Soltaro, they have declined the information, stating that it is confidential. Cant see how that is, the information for the parameters of the battery are published by the battery manufacturer, in their case i beleive the use LifePO4, and the purpose of the bms is to protect the battery, and we all know what the safe operating parameters are for LifePO4. shame they have declared that as their position.
  7. I have sent Soltaro an email requesting the inverter canbus requests commands, hopefully they come back with some seful data.
  8. Hi Steve87, Thanks for the reply. I am about to write an email to Soltaro support asking them what CANBUS commands the inverter is requesting from the battery BMS. I have done something similar with LUXPowertek where they were really good, and passed on the inverter CAN requests, and then ZEVA BMS wrote those commands into his bms, and that has worked really well for 3 years. I`m hoping Soltaro is as good. There is now a huge growing community out there that are reusing old or accident damaged vehicle EV batteries for storage, and it makes sense to do so, its perfect recycling. Thanks for your interest.
  9. Ok, I did do a prius plug in conversion using 72 40ah cells, a plug in supply ev electronic controller and a Zivan charger. Had it running beautifully for 6 years, then bought an EV and repurposed the cells into home energy storage, using an australian ZEVA (Zero Emisions Vehicles Australia) BMS, it is very very good too, and reasonably priced, plus 'he will program the BMS with the correct CANBUS data if you happen to know it, or the company are happy providing it. Im ok doing the mech and elec work, but this CANBUS programming is sadly beyond my skill set. Thanks buddy.
  10. hi Coulomb, are you the same coulomb that was in the DIY ev scene a few years back, maybe with plug in prius kits on priuschat or ev forums. There is a coulomb over those places, wondering if it is you? Thanks.
  11. Hi Coulomb I have just managed to buy a Soltaro AC coupled inverter, was hoping to get it working with my own build lithium usung reclaimd nissan leaf battery to 48v (14s 3p), i am using a self build DIYBMS that has canbus function. The i realise that there is no lead acid setting, and it only works with soltaro batteries. I need to try to get the canbus data, or very basic canbus data to get the inverter to work with the battery, even very basic stuff like low/high voltage setting switch off. Any ideas? Thanks

  13. Hi, new to the forum here, looking for advice and info on the Soltaro inverter. I have been told by our local UK support office that this inverter only works with the soltaro battery. I have made my own 48v battery using reclaimed nissan leaf cells, in a 3p14s configuration. I have a DIYBMS system monitoring the battery and this has canbus capability I am looking to get info of the canbus data the inverter requires to operate, hopefully thn i can input that canbus data into my bms abd get the inverter to operate with my battery. After all, all the inverter shold need is a high and low voltage operating parameter, my bms will control the rest. Has anyone done any work with these inverters reverse engineeting them to capture this info Thanks Anthony
