  4. Same experience here. All appeared to go well with the order before the excuses started rolling in: delays in parts, shipping delays, delivered at the wrong address. SAPS Fraud case also opened. Let's see where this goes.

  6. My current setup, installed in 2017, is a Kodak OG 5.48 with a 1x Narada 48NPFC100, and 8x 400w Canadian mono panels. It is wired to supply the whole house, excluding a gas-stove/electric oven, they 200L (4000w) geyser, a 750w pool pump and 3000w inverter-heatpump. There's also a 13KVA diesel genset with auto/manual-changeover. Requirement: I would like to have, as a minimum, the pool pump and heat pump run off solar during the day as much as possible. I am not looking to put the geyser and stove-oven on the inverter as yet. I obviously need to replace the current inverter with a hybrid model, first, whilst thinking of scaling up later on as cash becomes available. My questions are: What size hybrid inverter should I consider (8kW vs 10kW)? What compromises come with buying a R12-18k 10kW hybrid (e.g. Sun/Fivestar/Ecco/etc) over a R35k Deye/Synsynk/etc? Asking since I would like to add 8x 500w mono-panels as well, whilst trying to come in under R35,000. Adding battery storage will come after the above. Any other suggestions welcome!

  8. Both. Yes. I've also discovered that the fscking crimper I bought wasn't piercing the wire for pin-3, meaning I made and remade faulty BMS cables, in different configs.... I'm getting it swapped and will then try and remake one with the pinouts I got from the respective Kodak and Narada installation manuals I have. I do fear you may be right, in that the Kodak cannot communicate with anything but Pylontechs anyway. That would be disappointing.
  9. Could you possibly post a picture of your BMS/RS485 cable? I'm trying to get my OG5.48 to communicate with my Narada lithium battery, which I understand is similar to a Pylontech. I need to make up the cable.

  11. I'm running my inverter on 230v. What I'm noticing is that the City Power voltage is around 220v when loadshedding is over, sometimes as low as 200v, gradually ramping up to 230v after about 2 hours, where it remains until the next cut. I've played around with setting the inverter to 220v and 240v to see if I can squeeze out a bit more from the battery but I cannot say that there is any measurable difference, hence I'm just leaving it on 230v.
  12. Hi Everyone, new to the forum! I bought a house which has a solar, inverter and battery installation done by KP Green Power, given the branding on the enclosure. The inverter is a Kodak OG5.48 connected to a Narada 48NPFC100 G4. There doesn't seem to be any BMS communication between the inverter and the battery. There is a cable plugged into the RS485 ports, but it just looks like a generic network cable that comes with most routers. The inverter is also custom configured and not using the PYL configuration one would expect if the RS485 comms was working. May I please ask for any assistance with the wiring pin-outs for the RS485 cable, so that the Kodak and Narada would be able to communicate? I have the tools to make up a cable.
