  1. Yes, I recognise that but... He wants to 'set and forget', doesn't care whether his geyser and oven is off during loadshedding (he has a gas hob) and isn't concerned about powering the non-essential side with the excess PV (rather wasteful in my opinion but, and I quote "I don't want to fiddle about with this stuff, I just want the system to stop tripping when they switch on lots of stuff at the same time" - what you gonna do Interesting: Co-Pilot AI says that two phases can be connected to paralleled inverters as per below - has anyone here done this?
  2. Thanks for the replies - ok, so all essentials would need to move to a single phase. Non-essentials then on the other phase which would be completely isolated from the inverters and also not be constrained by the inverters when Eskom is up
  3. A friend of mine has 2 x 5.5k Deye inverters each coupled to a Hubble AM2, and connected to a phase each on his 3 phase board (the 3rd phase is connected only to Eskom). He is finding that one of the inverters trips when the phase is intermittently overloaded (usually when a big aircon is switched on top of the normal load)- can he solve this problem by connecting the inverters in parallel and adding a 3rd battery?
  4. I have a Deye 3 Phase 12K and have observed the exact same 'grid disconnected' behavior on a regular basis - I've reached the point where I just live with it. Can only presume that it's a safety meausure based on grid input voltage.
  5. I intend to use the Sonoff Loadshedder in conjunction with HomeAssistant and SolarAssistant to automate the control of high-drain devices since I've put the entire house on the inverter. I have 3 Geysers (1 x 250l with its own Solar Panel); 1 x 150l, and 1 x 100l). Now while I have set auto-schedules with on and off times using eWeLink, load shedding can be unpredictable and the Sonoff Loadshedder should automatically pickup when Eskom is off and then switch off the Geysers (and the Pool Pump) so that they don't accidentally drain the batteries. For example, all the Geysers switch on at about 04h30 so that there is hot water early in the morning - if it's load-shedding at that time then I don't want them to switch on otherwise they will drain the batteries and I might run out of power if we are in Stage 6-8. I also don't want to have to wake up in the middle of the night and manually switch off the loads, or, if I'm away, rely on anyone else at home to do so. The Sonoff Loadshedder should allow me to define high drain items as "non-essential" during loadshedding slots - I will then also not have to rely on the EskomSePush API for my HomeAssistant automations eg since I can read the state of Eskom (on or off) from the Sonoff Loadshedder, I can automate a RGB bulb in the kitchen (and elsewhere) to turn red when the Eskom power goes off. Can also do the same for heaters / tumble dryer / washing machine - put them on a Wifi enabled plug adapter, then when Eskom power is off, switch them off to ensure that my batteries don't get drained (or, since I'm going to integrate the inverter into HomeAssistant as well), only switch them off during load shedding if the batteries are below 60 percent and the weather forecast is 'cloudy' Heh, the possibilities are endless.
  6. Aleks, Will the device override a schedule created in the eWeLink App? I have a Redpole Switch connected to my Geyser and defined the following: On: 05h00 Off: 07h00 On: 11h00 Off: 14h00 On: 18h00 Off: 21h00 If LS kicks in at 10h00, will it override the scheduler when it tries to switch the Geyser on at 11h00? Thanks
  7. Congrats @PsyWulf Noice goodies
  8. Thanks. Don't have any Sonoff yet. Unfortunately not comfortable with h/w mods (don't have the skills or equipment) but thank you for the kind offer.
  9. Thanks - I'll have a look at this. I'm not worried about the status since I can see whether the gate is open or closed from various vantage points including a camera feed to various monitors in the house.
  10. Yep, that's why I'm not worried about the HA integration. What I am struggling with is: 1. What device to use to connect to the ET 500 2. How to connect the device to the ET 500 3. How to trigger the the device to open and close the ET 500
  11. Thanks - good to know The application I'm thinking of I'm not worried if it doesn't work while Loadshedding since my Alexa's are down during LS in any event. Could you tell me more about how I would use the Sonoff mini to trigger the gate motor opening and closing? Not to worried about HA, would be able to muddle my way through and it's not the primary motivation.
  12. Looks like a good time to have joined. Newbie luck incoming 😄
  13. Hi, complete newbie to Sonoff here. Couple of questions. My current setup consists of Alexa devices, a HomeAssistant installation and a couple of Shelley light switches. I would like to integrate my sliding gate (ET Drive 500) into my home network so that it can be opened and closed via Alexa Voice command. HomeAssistant integration would be a bonus. 1. Do I need a special hub for the Sonoff sensors to accomplish integration 2. Do you have a sensor that I can install in the ET Drive 500 to accomplish this 3. Do you have detailed, step by step instructions on how to set it up? Thanks
