I see what you mean, because the screen shows "Bypass". I am not sure. I will run my system on batteries for an hour to draw them down a bit then see what my screen looks like when charging batteries and load at the same time.

With Usb setting, Utility is supposed to be priority source to power loads. Obviously it is not. If solar exceeds load, solar is priority and only source.

@DirkieNo, my batteries are fully charged and solar is powering my load right now with Usb setting. Only the shortfall coming from utility.

@JopieThe "Usb" wording in the manual is wrong or misleading. When I read the description, I assumed solar will only be used if there is no Utility power available, which is not the case.

I changed my settings and you are right, it works! Now I don't have the constant 20W drain on the batteries when the load exceeds the solar production. What a relief, thank you very much @Jopie.

I have 6 x 540W panels = 3 240W in total. 90Vdc~450Vdc No, on a sunny day, by 10h00 my batteries are fully charged. I have 6 more panels on order and should have them installed by next weekend.

Axpert 7.2kW and an external charger
I have a Kodak OG-7.2. I have never had a problem charging batteries on cloudy days. As the sun rises and the PV activates, my batteries start charging.

Yes, it seems that way. They build an inverter with the functionality to charge from solar and utility simultaneously. Then they write firmware to activate the functionality once certain criteria are met. They are then supposed to test if it actually works. Obviously they have not done that. As long as the orders come in, they will supply inverters, irrespective if they are working 100% or not. They then rely on guys like @Coulombto fix their firmware for them and post patched firmware.

I updated the firmware to U1 90.28, U2 12.13. I cannot really tell the difference between 45.07 and 90.28. I still have the same issues. Once the load exceeds the solar production, there is a constant draw of 20W from my batteries and I am still unable to charge batteries with solar and utility simultaneously.

455w or 540w panels?
I had Art Solar panels installed at my previous house. I never had any issues with them and they performed well, exceeding their rate output power on many occasions.

My Kodak Max 7.2kW has been up and running for about 12 days now. I have noticed two issues and wonder if it is only me that has the problem or is it a firmware issue? 1.) I am unable to charge the battery with solar energy and utility at the same time, although setting 16 is set to "SNU". As long as solar power is available, the batteries will only be charged by solar. It seem it is stuck in "CSO" mode. If my batteries are at say 80% SOC when the sun is setting, the batteries will only charge with solar. Only once the sun sets and solar disconnects, will batteries be charged with utility only. It is therefore only solar or only utility. I cannot get the batteries to charge with solar and utility at the same time. 2.) Setting "01" is set to "Sub". (Solar energy provides power to the loads as first priority. If solar energy is not sufficient to power all connected loads, Utility energy will supply power to the loads at the same time). In my case all is fine until the load exceeds solar production, it will constantly draw 20 watt from my two Pylon U5000 batteries (10 watt per battery). My float voltage is set at 52.1V. The battery voltage will slowly reduce the battery voltage during this time until the load is reduced below solar production. Once that happens, there will then be a sudden inrush of power to the batteries to get them back to 52.1V within a minute or so. If utility is available, why draw power from the batteries in the first place? Firmware: U1 45.07, U2 12.10, U3 88.88 Does anyone with this inverter have the same problem?

An alarm for power outages?
I wired one of those green panel LED lights directly onto the Eskom income line and placed it in the kitchen above the fridge as it is the most central location. I am in the kitchen every 10 minutes to fill up my glass😁. Once Eskom goes down, the green LED goes out.

I bought a Pylontech communication cable with RJ45 connector. When I wanted to connect it I realised I have a US3000 and not US3000C battery that has a RJ11 Console connector and not RJ45. The RJ11 only has 4 pins. Do you know which pinouts to use on the RJ11 connector?

Hi Otter, ideally you would like to have the panels face North (Orange Line). Your carport would probable face North North West (Red Line). It should not be a problem. I see you have a huge tree to the North and to the West that might cause shading on your panels in the afternoon. Another consideration would be the distance to your inverter. As you are working with DC power, you want the cables as short as possible because of voltage drop. Then you might need to install thicker PV cables, depending on the distance.

Hi Otter, it is very difficult without knowing the orientation of your house and general layout, trees etc. If possible, can you go to Google Earth, find your house, zoom in and take a screenshot.

Yes, that is where setting 13 or on ICC setting "Back to discharge voltage" comes in. Once your batteries reach that battery voltage, the system will start running off batteries again if no utility is available.

If that is the case, you need to increase solar panels as soon as your budget allows. Running off a generator is expensive and inefficient.
