Is there anyone you can recommend? Preferably in the CT area. Apparently everyone I google are too busy for such minor things.

Need help on Hubble/Goodwe combination
Are there any installers in the Durbanville/Kraaifontein area anyone can reccomend who work with both brands? I have a Goodwe ES G2 5000 inverter and 3x Hubble AM5 batteries that don't interact correctly and a firmware update on the Goodwe just made it worse. Two of the batteries were older and needed the firmware to be updated. They were, but the inverter was barely charging the batteries - like 10% a day. I then purchased a cloudlink and plugged it in and also decided to update the inverter firmware. The batteries stopped communication completely with the inverter even after reverting to the older inverter firmware, nothings working. Does anyone know what to do to fix this or who I can call? Both Goodwe and Hubble support say the batteries and inverter aren't compatible (they were before the update), so that's not helpful. My Gallery — Postimages

Where to get replacement dust filters?

I have however noticed its dust filters on the sides have been solidified due to never being cleaned. I feel it would be more logical to just replace the filters, however I can't find it anywhere. I also can't locate any filter rolls that I can cut to size except Temu, which I'm skeptical of. Does anyone know where I can obtain replacement dust filters?

PV NTC highest safe temperature?
What does the marked temperature measure? https://ibb.co/7g7RK57 I ask because my previous Goodwe inverter only registered the battery and inverter temperature. The manual says it means PV NTC temperature; my googling points to the temperature of the panels themselves? Secondly if I enable grid feedback, the temperature has gone up from 30'C to 80'C before I disabled it. The inverter temp doesn't ever go above 31'C, but the fans go into overdrive. I obviously don't want to cause any damage and with the heat wave in Joburg I understand one needs to watch out. What is the max temperature this can go to before I should get worried?

I bought a replacement inverter and battery combo a few weeks ago; works decently well, but I'd like to confirm the OEM manufacturer. The brand is ainegy, but I know most inverters are rebrands. For those looking for a non-municipal bidirectional meter
After some long searching, I found a local supply of bidirectional meters, i.e. an electrical consumption meter that shows how much electricity you've consumed and how much you've produced, separately. Take note this is not the type of meter that would be supplied by a municipality. I bought this to measure how much electricity I could supply to the other units in my mid-size complex (we have a single bulk feed meter) I got the meter from Electromann in Roodepoort (I'm not receiving any benefit from them) at the following link: https://electromannsa.co.za/shop-the-latest-affordable-gadgets-online/multifunction-60a-bi-directional-solar-energy-meter/?gad_source=1 My electrician installed it like any other consumption meter, though apparently "backwards" in that the arrows showing consumption and production were swopped around. It was an easy enough fix - I stuck tags to tell the person reading the meter what each arrow signifies. To test I waited a few months to see consumption and the other day I had my inverter feed back into the grid. The measurement was accurate enough. So now I'll finally be able to get my bill down to zero and use my batteries only as backups. What bi-directional meter can I purchase for feeding back into complex?
At the end of May I purchased and installed a Goodwe GW5000-ES-20 along with 8x 410w JA Solar panels and 2x Hubble AM-5 batteries. System works incredibly well and I've seen my electrical bill drop by more than 60%. It was always my intention - if possible - to feed any spare electricity production back into my complex's grid. Our complex has a single-feed in from Ekurhuleni. There are 16 units total and I found out the average electricity usage for the entire complex is 10 units per hour. An obvious concern was that I produced more than was being used and accidentally fed into the grid where the digital meter would then immediately shut down (that's what happens right?). I inadvertently confirmed this as not an issue when the installer took two weeks to install the smart meter at my DB to measure usage and prevent feeding back into the grid. My meter outside read 200 units higher over a week, which confirms I was feeding back and being charged for it. But the complex meter was unaffected AFAIK. I want to make an arrangement with our management that I'll feed all extra production into the complex for other people to use - that will offset the bill with Eskom with however much and with a negative balance reduce my power bill to zero. That excess production every month will be to the benefit of the complex's bank account. I might also then be able to set my batteries to backup only, allowing them to last even longer. The only problem is that I need to get a bi-directional meter showing my usage and production, with the net usage reflecting for them to note on the system. I'm not sure what meter to purchase and where. All the bi-directional meters I could find on google look like those fitted by the municipality or are also smart-meters for other inverters. I've included a picture below of my current meter. Again it is the same being used by 15 other units and does not have its own feed directly with Eskom. Where can I purchase a meter that I can replace it with and that the body corporate can read to confirm usage?

I am completely daft. The actual model on the quote is stated as GW5000ES20. I just remembered the '5000' portion of the name and assumed the result on Google was the same. *facepalm* The video in question was of a Portugese bloke: There was also one from an Aussie where talked about the geyser being heated up, but I can't find that one right now.

I'm in the process of purchasing the GoodWe GW5000D-NS inverter. My set up will most likely include 8 x 430w panels and a Hubble 5kw battery. One of the reasons why I want to pick this specific brand is that according to two Youtube videos I watched, it has three "feeds" 1. Your essential appliances, which will switch to battery in the case of an outage. 2. Your non-essential appliances, that will not use battery backup, but will offset any usage with solar energy. 3. If there is any unused solar power, it will feed the excess into a separate feed. As I understood it, a lot of guys would hook up their geysers with a reduced element (usually a 1.5kw) to the 3rd feed, meaning that the inverter would automatically heat the geyser whenever there was spare electricity, but automatically switch off when there wasn't. This would obviously have the benefit of removing the guesswork of when to set your geyser's timer, though I'm guessing if there's no spare capacity, you may have an issue. Is this correct? And if so, how should this connection be done?

Thank you for the responses. To add with the info you provided: 1. We have individual meters for each unit that the managing agent reads every month. Analog, but newer yes. They obviously then match it up with the single bill we get from Ekurhuleni. Could I purchase a bi-directional meter to replace my current one to solve the double-charging as you mentioned? 2. I know if you don't want to feed back into the grid, you install some gizmo to prevent that. If I install one for my complex instead of just my unit, that would isolate our complex right? I suppose the only major concern is that if there's a power outage and there's two solar systems, they won't know the power's out and likely cause a brown-out or what have you. 3.The possible safety hazard in electrocuting an electrician when the power's supposed to be off...yeah that's a problem. Saving a few hundred bucks vs a lawsuit would be a poor trade-off.

What happens if you feed back into a complex's grid?
I currently live in a small complex - 16 units of duplexes (two buildings of eight units each). Our complex was built in 2006, so rightly or wrongly, we only have a single feed from the municipality that's split inside the complex. This has prevented us from getting individual prepaid meters, but is actually in our favor regarding the split connection fee and possibly my question I have below. We pay a fixed fee per unit of electricity, irrespective of what time of day it was used. I'm hopefully going to have enough saved up by April to purchase a proper solar kit - most likely a 5kva Sunsynk with 6 panels and a 5kw lithium battery. The way I understand it - and I apologize for the complete ignorance here: The unit is capable of feeding back excess electricity into the grid by default. I understand that if you want to send it back to the municipality, you need to have a special meter installed, but what happens if there are 15 other households on that same feed? I can imagine that whatever extra I pump back will be used by the other homes. If this is viable and safe, could I purchase an off-the-shelf consumption meter that would tell the managing agent how much electricity I used and generated? The reason I ask is, if I can generate "surplus" units that are used up by other households during the day, I could then use them during the evening when the sun isn't shining. So I could then reserve my battery usage only during emergencies. Also reducing the complex's usage of municipal energy a little bit wouldn't be a bad thing. I would be able to speak with the trustees and say that if my usage is in a negative at the end of the billing period, that it's just zero on my bill. I'd be willing to write off any excess every month. Is this viable, or am I going to make an electrician cry?
