So I recently got my solar system running and have been monitoring usages very closely. One thing I noticed is that my Dyness battery loses charge while not in use and due to my schedule tops up after a while to keep it at 100% From what I can see, it would drop about 1% to 2% every 3 hours while idling and not in use. This happens during the day when I dont allow discharging and at night where it drops from 85% to 80% while eskom is on. My schedule is as follows: Priority Charge and keep at 100% from 07:00 to 18:00. AC charge from 16:00 to 07:00 to keep battery at 85% Discharge battery (when eskom is on) from 18:05 to 06:55 until it reached 85% Two scenarios happen: 1. During the day, I don’t allow battery discharge and the battery would be topped up from eskom or solar every few hours. 2. During at night, after the battery has discharged to 85% the settings wont allow it to discharge further while eskom is on. Its charge would drop to 84%, 83% etc until it reaches 80% where eskom will keep it at 80% until the morning. So my QUESTION, is this normal? Does a battery have losses like this even while on idle due to some idle usages that doesn’t show on monitoring? I have a Luxpowertek 5kwh inverter.

I am going to assume that those appliances are maybe connected to another phase? Thats why its not showing since the CT coil is connected to another of your phases?

I recently finally got my solar panels and have a few questions when it comes to zero export and feeding PV back into non-essentials. From my understanding so far: Zero Export Load = Delivers PV to essentials and battery, doesn't export to grid or non-essentials Zero Export to CT = Delivers PV to essentials, battery and non-essentials, doesn't export to grid. What I have noted was that if Zero Export Load is selected, my Deye inverter only displays under the house icon my essential load on the inverter. It ranges from 0.3kw to 0.5kw throughout the day. My PV also only shows a very small amount which is normally the same amount as my essential usage. When I select Zero Export to CT, both my essential and non-essential loads are shown on the inverter (House icon). Because of this much higher usage, it actually shows that my PV is generating more power to feed the additional usage. Selecting Zero Export to CT does make me worried tough... as its showing both the essential and non-essential loads, when my geyser kicks in it goes easily to 4.5kw with the usage bars on the screen showing in red as my inverter is only 5kw. However, is the House icon just showing your total energy usage as picked up by the CT coil or is the inverter actually pushing through that value? Meaning, if it goes to 6kw, would it trip and switch off? In short, I'm trying to understand if I should be worried that my inverter is displaying 6kw under the house icon when my inverter is only 5kw when Zero Export to CT is selected.

@Scorp007 Do you perhaps know if the non-essential loads that can be powered by the excess solar power is limited by the LXP5K? For example can your geiser, swimming pump, oven etc all be on non-essential on the LXP5K?

Ok, so what I want to figure out is. For Luxpowertek model LXP5K. Can I use it the same way as the Deye one, where my excess solar helps supplement my non-essential loads while eskom is on?

I’ve been trying to look around but havent find concrete answer to my question yet. Does the LuxPowerTek LXP5K allow you to export your extra solar power to your non-essential items without also exporting to the grid? As far as I can tell the SNA model is an off-grid inverter and has an internal CT coil so you wont be able to do it without also exporting to the grid. But what about the LXP5K one? I am currently deciding if I want to get the LuxPowerTek LXP5K inverter as my Deye Hybrid 5kw is making noise on my devices and need to know what features I might be losing when doing that.

I have a theory.. @DiSiNTiGR8 @Wiggly Electron How far is your and your friend’s inverter to your DB board? Is there a distance between them or are they installed right next to eachother? I noticed that my noise changes depending how far my digital appliance is from the inverter. I also noted from my friend that his 8kw Deye inverter IS making the noise at the inverter itself, but his appliances are not replicating the sound inside the house. Biggest difference from his install and mine, is that my inverter is next to my DB board and his is located in an outside garage away from his home and DB board. So there is about 5 meters between his DB Board and the inverter. I wonder if the inverter noise is inducted into the house wiring if its installed too close to the DB Board...

Hi, Yesterday I got my system installed with a 5kw Deye inverter and sadly... getting the same irritating noise from my appliances. My friend who installed a 8kw Sunsynk is not experiencing the same issue. Has anyone had any inroads yet in finding a solution? I'm contemplating if upgrading to a 8kw could resolve it... or getting another brand.
