Thanks @Steve87 Do you know if the Sungrow SH6.0RS Residential Hybrid Single Phase Inverter can do the same? Thanks

Sungrow kit installed
Hi Any idea if possible to use just as Grid Tied inverter and not install a battery? Thanks

Atess Combiner Boxes Parameters
Hi guys Stupid question. I see the Atess Combiner Boxes has parameters that can be adjusted. Is it possible to program/limit the breaker tripping load. I want to set the 400A to trip at 250A. Thanks

Busbar Sizing
Hi Guys Thanks for the input. Our argument is that at no point of connect 2600A will be drawn. Loads are evenly spread. The highest point drawn will be at the battery connection and that is a 1000A. It all the inverters were connected together at one point it will be a different scenario. I also read somewhere that installing the MPPTs between the inverter and not all at one end will also balance the loads. We arranged a meeting with a engineer to get more clarity. PS: We order our busbars from Copalcor in PE.

Busbar Sizing
Hi guys Need a little help in calculating the bus-bar size for a project. (See image attached) 9 x 15000kva Victron Qautro's 4 x 450/200 MPPTs 3 x 60/48 Freedom Won Batteries. 1000A Discharge The red line is the busbar. Dark Blue Freedom Won Batteries Light Blue/Cyan Inverters Green MPPTs We calculated that a 1000A busbar will do the job but going with 1200A for safety. What are your calculations on this setup please? Thanks JAKE LAYOUT.pdf

Atess Combiner Box 16 String
Hi Guys Need some help with argument with engineer. We ordered Atess combiner Box 16 string. According to datasheet it has a 250A DC breaker. Each string is protected by a fuse. Positive and negative. We installed a 100m 2 core 95mm2 cable which can handle 257A. When we received the units it came with a 400A breaker. Apparently the new ones have been changed. We argue that the breaker is just acting as a isolator and the protection is done through the fuses. The panels will never deliver more than 250A. What are your guys opinion? If you can prove your opinion with what stated in SANS it will be great. Thanks

Sunsynk Peak Shaving
Hi Guys. Bit new to Sunsynk. Have a 50kw 3p unit 2 x 60kw HV batts. Grid 80A 3P Want to implement peak shaving to limit the grid usage to 40kw. We enabled the peak shaving at 40kw but the system just used battery power for the total load and did not use the grid at all. It stopped when it reached the min SOC. What am i missing?

Acceptable losses.
Hi Guys I have a customer who monitors every incoming and outgoing Watt. Literately write down on paper. He has a Victron 8kva inverter and 3 x BSL 7kwh batteries. Victron VRM will indicated that for example 10.5kwh has been used and then he will compare that to the percentage of the SOC. In other words 50%. But the percentage is a bit lower, say 45% due to losses. Which i explained to him. His question is what is a acceptable loss. Thank you in advance.

DC Volts in armored cable
Hi TaliaB Thank you for the info. Array is 10 rows of 60 panels. 4 x 15panel strings in each row. 2 rows per Atess 8string Combiner box. Going to 3 x Atess HPS150s. Using the Trina Tallmax 550W Will be 750v and 14.02 per string.

DC Volts in armored cable
Hi Guys please can i have your opinion in running DC volts through armored cable. Copper and aluminum. To be used to connect solar panels to inverter. 150m distance. 800v Some say that in armored cable induction will cause the insulation to deteriorate and short and burn after a while. Also more voltage drop in armored cable. thanks

VSD and SSEG Registration
Hi guys Just a question. If a customer has a Solar/PV Pumping Inverter (Variable Speed Drive) installed, using solar to power their pumps during the day and eskom at night, do they still need to register SSEG. Even though it is impossible for the VSD to feed back? Thanks
