120Ah 3.2v LiFePO4 cells
Hi all, I'm back in the market for LifePo4 100A or 120A cells. Another one of my cells has failed in my LBSA battery which makes it 5 so far. Anyone got stock?

No they havent started to swell but 4 of them lost most of their capacity after about a year and had to be replaced.

I will not be doing business with them ever again.

120Ah 3.2v LiFePO4 cells
I got some batteries from a guy called Neil in Thornton. PM me for his number. I ended up replacing 4 cells out of the 16. I did a capacity test on each of them and they were defintely way below what they should have been.

20-30 Amp PWM Charge Controller Recomendations
Hi all, I'm looking for a decent PWM Charge Controller about 20-30 Amps to use for 12V shed lighting. Lots around online but most of then look like junk. Any recommendations?

Agreed. Top balancing is essential as well as using good quality cells.

120Ah 3.2v LiFePO4 cells
In my case its cell 2 that is the problem. What happens is after about 15 minutes cell 2 voltage drops to about 2.8v and I see a current spike of 72 amps on the logs. The SOC then drops down to about 10%. I suspect there may be another cell thats on its way out but I will first replace C2 and then monitor the battery and see how it responds.

120Ah 3.2v LiFePO4 cells
I bought a built 6kwh unit from LBSA as a reseller. It worked well for the first 3 months and after that had endless problems on and off. Sent it up to Joburg for a warranty repair and it came back with what seems to be the same fault. They want me to send it back for the second time but shipping from Cape Town to Joburg and back costs around R1200.00 not to mention the labour to uninstall, package and re-install, inconvenience etc. I know that one of the cells is faulty but they've refused to provide me with a replacement part to repair it locally. They insist on it being sent back to them which is will cost another R1200.00 and is totally impractical. They told me that if we repair it ourseves then will void the warranty but I'm not too concerned about that as the warranty is worth nothing if it costs a fortune to return for repairs. My advice is that unless you live within close proximity of the LBSA factory then dont buy one. I certainly wont be doing so again.

They dont have stock. These things seem to be scarce as hen's teeth with all the loddshedding. I am desperate as I need to repair an LBSA battery and they have not been much help.

Thanks again for being so helpful, the picture is becoming clearer. One last thing that I'm not clear on is what happens during load shedding. Do these settings continue to function when the grid is lost? For example, with your settings, if load shedding starts at 04:00 with your battery sitting at 50% SOC will the battery carry the load until it hits 40% SOC and then die? I remember someone commenting that during load shedding they untick the Use Time box to get the full use of the battery. I will be setting up my new 5kw Sunsynk tomorrow and I haven't yet had the opportunity to play with it in real life but I've been trying to understand the theory of operation in readiness for commissioning.

Thanks for this, it clears up most of the confusion. So if you have ticked the grid box, like you have at 15:30, will the battery be limited to charging from the grid only or will it charge from PV if there is sufficient excess PV power? Similarly, if the grid box is unticked, like you have at 12:45, does that mean the battery will be limited to being charged by the PV or will it charge from the grid if there is insufficient PV power?

It seems I am one of those people. Neither the manual nor the training videos explain it clearly enough for me to understand and I'm totally confused. Do you know if there's a more comprehensive explanation somewhere that I can take a look at?

Axpert Firmware 72.70
Thanks. It seems that the problem was caused by not having any load on the inverter. Once I connected the load then the inverter accepted the generator quite happily.

Axpert Firmware 72.70
I just upgraded to 72.70 in the hope that I could get my cheap Builders Warehouse generator to work but it still doesn't. Has anyone tested a generator on this version?
